It is one of the in-game-"jokes" that the dispatch officer is a bit thick.

Too bad it's not even a bit funny.

True, true. I've put the word 'Joke' in inverted commas.....

Has anyone else noticed that there's always something going on in Vinewood Hills?

They say doing 90 mph in every single vehicle. Sometimes they say 50 mph, as well...

It's not accurate, and it's not funny, tbh.

Yeah the cops in this game aren't nearly as funny as they were in past GTA games, which is a shame.

I've had this:

"Suspect driving down Rockford Hills in a black helicopter".

WAT.

Well, our operators have been driven crazy by all those random phone calls from civilians, who only call because there's someone near them.

We also like to hire true 'Muricans, who don't know, or care, about all of those foreign cars.

"Suspect last seen iiiin the ocean."

Way to narrow it down, lady.

We have your GPS signal, so we will find you eventually. ;)

Yep, you're going 90 in that tractor! Welcome to 'Murica!

Hey, at least we aren't filled with fat guys like in LC. Say that infront of another officer, and you'll get a 2 star wanted level automatically.

Has anyone else noticed that there's always something going on in Vinewood Hills?

We know, there's a SWAT team already there.

She must be doing something right, the police always find me! :miranda:

We let you go, since you're everyone's favourite tiger! :)

Suspect doing 90... "in a P-996 Lazer"...

Maybe you are... ;)

LSPD, building a safer Los Santos, one beating at a time. :miranda:

On every GTA where they say "suspect seen in a Police Car"

Now if that were my job, I'd be like "How the f*ck did he get one of our cars!" - There's no surprise they just announce like it's any other vehicle.

I was doing about 40 miles per hour in an Oracle and they said I was doing 90. It gets quite old to be honest and why would you make the police state the amount of speed said suspect is going if the speed isn't even accurate?

Not to mention, the cops in this game are lame. They are about as funny as a Pontiac Aztec is beautiful. They're not fat and lazy like the LCPD but they definitely need a sense of humor because they bored me to the point of wanting to mute them.

How did we go from "I'm that badass nigga yo' mamma warned you 'bout" to talking about dull, menial things and repetitious, generic cop phrases from something like a G-rated cartoon?

I like the sherrif who's like, "Let's go get a beer," after he kills someone.

Lol. Not specific enough, damn dispatch. I've once had dispatch say: "Suspect last heading in the air."

About 2 to 5 other aircraft were in the air with me.

She can't even determine the model of the DLC cars! "Suspect last seen in a... ummm... Dark Red Grotti Performance Car."

Same here. "Suspect seen heading west in, a, ummm, Red Dinka."

Pretty sure once 1.12 comes it will be: "Suspect last seen in, a, ummm... black Enus SUV." DAMN IT DISPATCH.

Its not intended to be "haha" funny, just one of many ways to give you the idea of the intelligence, or lack of, of the police force.

Don't forget that the dispatch in previous game was rather funny. Here it's not only stupid, but also lying at most of the time.

When I sit in my Tank inside the Hanger for 45 minutes and NOT move an inch, you also hear "Suspect going North!" ; "Suspect going 90 mph!" ; "Suspect in a...um...Tank"

If I am not moving, how am I going 90? If I am not moving, how am I going North?

This game's dispatch speaker is horrible...

Too bad it's not even a bit funny. Half of the messages is umm, umm, umm.

I challenge any of you to listen to actual Police dispatch radio. It sounds exactly like this.

I occasionally make ambient music and have spent hours listening to the dispatch - Chicago traffic in particular - and I've heard some ridiculous stuff. It's all public access as well, just look it up online.

Personal favourite was something along the lines of 'we have a, ummmmm... homeless man in a parking lot... he's... witness says he has no pants on. Someone get him out of there'

The "umm" is so the dialogue can sound somewhat natural. Otherwise it would sound too robotic. They didn't have her record the line with every possible vehicle. They can insert whatever they want after the "umm" and it will still work.

Instead she sounds like an airhead, which is quite alright with me. :D

I'd never heard her mention police vehicles till last night. A fun interchange between Dispatch and persuing officer:

"Suspect last seen in a, uhh... Police Riot..."

"Somebody shoot the goddamn tires out!"

They shot mine out. Still made it to the Unicorn with black smoke billowing out of the front of it. Commited suicide by cop after that. Now I own NOOSE's best vehicle.

OT: Anybody know what the VA for the Dispatcher looks like? Would be nice to have a face to attach to the voice.

Of course, if your Riot is stock the tires get shot out, but I got BP tires on mine (save editor) ; so literally, they CAN'T shoot mine out. :)

I stole the Riot back in December and will always keep it, it's simply the best vehicle, imo for on ground police chases other than the Tank. Tank is decent but if and only if you do NOT run over ANY vehicles and you do NOT fire your rockets at any vehicles within a 3 car length radius. I got to 1 hour, 4 minutes on a 5 star in the Tank, but in my Police Riot (With BP tires) 2 hours, 6 minutes! :)
