Traditional GTA aim or Assisted aim?

Traditional aim - you have no free aim abilities what so ever and should probably try a bit harder.

Assisted Aim - The best choice.

Free Aim - no life sh*t bucket with a superiority complex.

What is the difference between traditional and assisted aim?

Traditional - Lock on never breaks until aim button is released.

Assisted Aim - Lock stays for a short bit and then disengages.

What ? Really ? So the assisted aim is closer to free aim than the traditional one ?

superiority complex means you just believe you're superior.

Free aim IS superior.

give it some time, get used to it, you'll see just how much better the game is with it.

Tbh, I like free aim, but I stick to traditional for the simple fact free aim lobbys are never full when I join them.

I'm not referring to that :miranda:

I'm referring to the inevitable Free Aim vs Assisted and GTA Aim argument

But what about assisted aim then ? Is it easier than traditionnal or not ? I don't get it.

Apparently, just the opposite.

Assisted aim lines you up on the target it picks, then you aim after that.

Traditional GTA just locks on til you let go, even when they're dead it will hold a lock on.

Capisce?

this. i have to spend my time switching between free aim and auto aim.

this is why i come on here and say free aim is better, delusion on my part that the more people we tell about free aim the more people will play it and the better the matchmaking will get.

According to my experience on traditional aim, when the ennemy is dead, the lock on is over.

But assisted aim lock on an ennemy for a limited time, is that right ?

...and you have to be facing in that direction with aim assist. You cant just switch over to other targets quickly like in auto aim. You have to reaim again to get any kind of lock on.

Honestly? I didn't realize what I was using till everyone was all "Free aim is best if you don't use it you are a n0ob" And honestly why does it matter? It is just a game play how you want you spent your 60 bucks for it. Most people that play are casual players and free aim is for hard core players. Now with that being said I use Traditional GTA aim because I am used to it from IV.

GTA Amish, only use free aim, never bump cars, and don't use spoilers or custom tires on any cars! Morally superior in every way :rah:

Assisted Aim will lock onto a target that is within a box that makes up about half your screen size...in the middle of the screen. So you have to be looking in the general direction of the target. It will lock onto their chest for a couple of seconds as you hold left trigger and will follow them as they move but it will sort of drag behind them a touch and will then let go forcing you to either release and relock or to free aim. When aiming at a car the cursor will lag behind a lot and will lost the car entirely after a couple seconds.

Traditional Aim will lock onto any target on your screen priotirizing police first then pedestrians then players. It will lock on the chest and will never let go as long as your holding the left trigger. It will follow them through walls and trees and whatever motions they make while remaining right on their chest. This mode is deadly against drivers as it will track the car perfectly even after they get well out of range. If you flick the left thumb stick up it will go right to their head butwill mostly lose the lock. If you flick the stick to the left or right it will switch targets and lock on the chest of the new target. If you move the left thumb more than just a flick than you break the lock and you are left with free aim.

I am not sure if the flicking thing works on AA since I gave up using it long ago. I started with AA and whenever I got into little gun battles I lost almost every time. Someone pointed out the traditional and my game stepped up ten fold. AA and Traditional are in the same lobbies and if your using AA you are at a natural disadvantage.

The final bit that I like is that I can free aim on people whenever I like or feel the need with just a quick move of the thumb.

I dont know about the badass part but AA does not = getting shot from car at 100mph. It is actually pretty difficult to hit moving car with AA...would almost say you have a better chance in FA to hit them. However, Traditional Aim users will kill you in a heartbeat. I have pistol shot plane pilots that got too close.
