Help With A Color

Making something like Liquid Platinum or Palladium Metallic or anything remotely close to "silver" in this game is a real pain in the ass, IMO. They just never look right and while in artificial light (your garage or LSC) they appear decent enough, put it in natural light and all bets are off. They become washed out by yellow and acquire a "dirty" or "flat" appearance. Same thing goes with grays and they just don't reflect as well as - basically all your other colors like reds and blues. It's annoying and I haven't found a good silver yet.

 

Long story short I came across this Carbonizzare in Online last night. It baited me, knowing I wanted something of a decent silver in this game. Honestly, I don't think I've seen a better silver thus far in GTA:O. It nags at me but it almost seems like various paint colors work better on some cars than others (I suppose as it actually should - an Alpha in Grace Red is probably going to showcase better than say a Ruiner, quality wise).

 

That being said I took a few shots of the car from 5am to approximately 11am to give you an idea what I'm talking about in a couple different settings. Maybe someone can best point out the possible paint combination or maybe it really is just "Silver Metallic". I have a feeling though that this pearlescent is something somewhat unique, maybe.

Silver looks great sometimes and crapy too.

 

I think the problem is about the light management of the game. It's not a matter of color.

It's the same with any color. It's more obvious with grey because... it's grey. But on those pics, it's really nice tho.

The effect the lighting has on car paint, as jdwarfer mentioned, is pretty varied. Especially for things like this, unfortunately.

Try that glitch where you can put pearlescent to a matte color, it's somewhere in the forum, maybe if you try with grey matte and some white/light grey pearlescent it will look better

i had real trouble getting the silver i wanted, not sure if tis is what you're after but the closest i got to what i wanted was this;

stone silver metallic with ice white pearl.

It looks like silver surfer. Light reflects off the metal, and brings out the Pure White pearl, but it doesn't look like a mirror like chrome, lol

I think the problem is about the light management of the game. It's not a matter of color.

It's the same with any color. It's more obvious with grey because... it's grey. But on those pics, it's really nice tho.

 

It's absolutely annoying. I'll have to take a look at the matte + pearl options from here and see how that goes.
