Oh, what a mistake that was. I mean, why are people so moronic and untrusting? I know its GTA but christ, the consistent shooting of every moving object must get boring for some?

 

So i decided that instead of doing the normal GTA stuff (Get a jet, get some bounties, grind RR etc;), that i would have some fun with the 16man lobbies and the people in them. I invested in a 10 seater shuttle bus and a camper van, amounting to 45k, which is next to nothing for me.

 

Anyway, A mate and I got in and started to drive up to people in the lobby, approaching slowly and bibbing the horn in surrender (Surely im not the only one?). 1st person trusts us and gets in and, ironically, is a kid, no older than 15. He is polite, on the same wavelength and wants to get a party bus going.

 

Person number 2 spots us, fires bullets at us but stops just before i die, and he gets in. This was my first warning i suppose about how untrusting some are. He gets in, apologises and we now have 4 onboard.

 

10 of the 16 in the lobby were up north at Sandy Shores, so we make the LONG trek up there to get them. We meet a guy on the way, also polite, gets in and we now have 5.

 

Going to Sandy shores was a mistake. We get up there, slowly approach 2 people in a chrome entity. They dont initally shoot, we sit beside them and then *BANG*, sticky bombed. The voices on the wasted screen were both adult males from the UK, screaming "GET PWNED BITCH C*NT".

 

We all spawn, let the people off the hook and rendezvous in the camper. We only have 1 space left now. We approach another entity, but this was a less d*ckish design, so we stop, sound the horn and he gets his AP ready out the window. I try to drive away but he has killed 3 people in a matter of seconds. Those 3 people left and the party was over.

 

Basically, if that's TL;DR, my question is, why are people on GTA:O so untrusting and why do people feel the need to shoot anything that moves? It's ridiculous. I know its GTA but cant people try something other than sticky bombing PV's or spraying AP bullets about.

 

BTW, the chrome adder kids weren't laughing when i tracked them down with my mini gun and killed them 6 times each.

u wanna be friendly?

go into passive mode and see who will roll with you. this is more effective. and ive made new friends using the tactic.

a friendly "salute" action dont hurt either it signals your trying to be friendly.

if they act like a c*nt and shoot u, knowing it dont work, obv walk away with the fingers in the air... lol

 

also dont use a car while doing this.passive mode lets you use guns while driving. if someone is rolling on me in passive they will still get it.

 

also, 2 people together riding up on me? never ever means anything good is about to come... you went about this experiment all wrong.

 

solid dot = target. im sorry but im too distrusting for any solid dot to roll up on me. i would prob kill you too, not to be a dick but before i get killed.

 

and answering your question as to why are people distrusting? i would say its because upon entering this game as a level 4... you most likely got grieved to the point u lose all faith in everyone and become a product of the enviroment.

This is why we need a no-gun lobby, where guns/explosives just don't work, so that people can be free to choose almost any vehicle they want to drive around in and not feel like some punk is going to roll up and blast them. I believe such a place would encourage people to gather in packs with their vehicles to do silly sh*t as a group, like all go down Mount Chiliad at the same time etc.

 

Can you imagine a lobby with 10 or so dump trucks or gun-less tanks rolling round town? or an entire lobby of bikers going on a cruise?

 

I want that because some days I'm sick of stepping into the eternal deathmatch that is freeroam, I can't even trust my own crew in that respect, earlier I got run over by a crew member in my own f*cking vehicle, and it was intentional because they backed up kept on driving over me until I died. Not what I want from being in a crew.

I target passive mode players first. Unreliable d-bags, all of them. One was in a chopper, and tried to shoot me with the miniguns (they can do that) and land on me.

 

I shot the bastard down with the minigun, but he bailed out. Then I ran him over and put a bounty on his useless head before leaving on a mission.

 

Trust no one.

Hey look at the flip side, you actually found 4 nice people in GTA freeroam.

He met all 4 nice people in the entire GTA0 community. :colgate:

This is why we need a no-gun lobby, where guns/explosives just don't work, so that people can be free to choose almost any vehicle they want to drive around in and not feel like some punk is going to roll up and blast them. I believe such a place would encourage people to gather in packs with their vehicles to do silly sh*t as a group, like all go down Mount Chiliad at the same time etc.

today i was unsuccessful in a lester mission with another player, as soon as i spawned back into free roam ge spawn kills me

I have to admit to having done that myself. Don't get me wrong, not to just get a cheap kill in but because i imagine the other person is gonna do the same.

I've had it done to me too so i guess i took the view of shoot first, then off on my way. I did once get a rather salty message from someone for doing exactly this, but i explained why i did it. He was cool with it and saw my point. Got he chap on my friends list now

 

One thing i find that works when approaching random players is to just say that you're a friendly approaching, over the mic. This can go wrong if they don't have mic's set to everyone or on at all, but generally it seems to do the trick.

 

I had 5* police chase going on up in Paleto Bay and there was a group of players hanging about there. Had to warn them that i was coming in mega hot but was a friendly. They laughed so much when i sped past, along with half of the L.S County Sherrif's Dept on my behind.

I was being nice for the first time today

 

found a huge group at the airport and we did some dragraces, I was just spectating because I let some other guys drive my car.

Once I accidentally threw a sticky bomb on a guy's car, no big deal IMO, I wouldn't detonate it since I actually only wanted to show those guys the middle finger out of the car window.

I apologized and told him what the deal was and he calmed down.

Then I was spectating the races with another guy in a Buzzard.

But the pilot kinda started shooting at the racers, I tried to ignore that and stayed in the chopper.

 

But then that guy wouldn't stop. He kept threatening me like: "if you dont take that sticky of ma car niggu I swear I'm not gonna stop killing yo ass" . He also wanted to kick me because he thought I was the one who's shooting.

I explained everything but he said he didn't care because I was in the chopper, too. He told all the other guys to kick me.

He threatened me again and then it was enough, I just had to see his car going up in flames because of my sticky. Totally worth the I think 3000 bucks for his Carbonizzare.

Susprisingly, everyone calmed down again and it was all fine again.

 

Then I was just trying to get into an own chopper since I couldn't trust the other pilot anymore, but then that guy who was driving my car all the time first shot once at me out of my car and then told everyone I was shooting at him. I didn't do anything.

He then beat me up while I was texting to explain my innocence.

So I killed him, too.

 

Then the whole thing got f*cked up and all these guys ended up going to an invite-only-session because I was the one who griefed.

 

I gave you my car, I was even trying to explain with f*cking text messages (have no mic) that I was innocent, I was just trying to be nice, so f*ck me hard, right?

 

 

 

 

It almost seems like my whole career in GTA Online is determinated to griefing and trolling other people. Fine, I will accept my destiny and from now on I won't join any random party :panic:

I think this is exactly the kind of scenario that Rockstar had in mind when they designed GTA0. This is their idea of "fun." :p This is the game they designed.

 

This is why GTA0 is a near total loss. Only the beautiful virtual world, the nice cars and Invite-Only lobbies save it.

The only time I was able to fill up a bus was the day after the money wipe, everyone was pissed, we were filling up personal jets flying, and then I got my bus, they kept on bitching while in the bus that "rockstar took their money, and they had no right to" so I blew up the bus with everyone inside.

longest list of people I have killed ever.

 

But really, in the end, dont complain about it, embrace it, and have fun... dont take it so seriously, someone kills you, laugh it off, return the favor. Simple as that.

I can hear my neighbor screaming when I am in the driveway at this game, my buddy in the basement screams at this game... Its just sad.

im sorry but i would have done the same... i bus with multiple people in it, is just too much temptation to let that many kills go...

It was pretty awesome. I must say, I dont usually do things like that, but like you said, the temptation was there, and people were bitching.

I dont think that opportunity will ever come around again.

I feel your pain, OP. Very rarely do you find folks in free roam who just want to cruise, or have some fun without killing you. I do something similar with my hearse; I roll up near someone, honk the horn, and gauge their reaction. If they hop in, I take them to the hearse spawn to have one of their own. If they shoot, I drive away, turn around, and return the favor.

 

If it's any consolation, I definitely would have hopped on board the party bus.

Sounds like you need a different crew... We never kill each other (against code), but we do roll tight and kill everyone else in the lobby... Yes, we are one of those crews.. LOL

I'm one of those that would happily jump in the bus. But I guess for some it's a mixture of not trusting a set of people in the same vehicle plus the kill or be killed mentality. Los santos is a very hostile place.
