250K Crew Challenges

How do you earn money from these? Everytime I do one with a crew member I lose 250k instead of gaining it.

Yeah, I get 250k back, but it's just the 250k I spent getting into the race.

 

I did one with a crew member the other day, I lost 250k and they gained 125k.

Whoever starts the room has to invite at least one person then you quit out before it starts so you don't lose the $.

And even that is a bit buggy at the moment. Just don't even bother with them at all really.

I did a bunch of these with a crew member today, we couldn't figure out exactly how it works, but if the person that accepts the challenge comes in first we both got money, although the money we won seemed variable, some races my friend got the full 250k, others he only got like 100k, so I am not exactly sure how it works. We did a 250k challenge 4 times, alternating hosts and letting the host win and I ended up +500k and my friend ended up +600k, so I don't really get what is going on, but it seems a good way to make sort of legit money, I can't imagine Rockstar would be upset with people making money off of something they put in the game. Perhaps the game is using odds as with other races, and we are both favored to win thus our winnings are reduced.

I think some of you are missing the point. The payouts are different because it's a Challenge.

 

I think you have to beat the score of the person who set the Challenge. So, if you manage to win, you get his money, if you fail, he gets your money.

 

I think that's how this is suppose to work.

Did one of these the other day solo which sucked but lost 50 K even though I beat the challenge time. I'm interested to see how it works or should say I would like to know how they worked.

Yes you have to beat the challenge time to win, but if you race with crew members and everyone beats the challenge time (and the host comes in first) everyone gets extra money beyond what the host put in, but the amount of money seems to vary (even though all challenges were the same "bet"). I tried setting up a challenge with a fast time, and a friend in a different crew did it, failed, and he lost his money, but I didn't get any money, so that may be the way it is supposed to work, but I don't think it is the way it does work.

Most people think completing the race is all there is....what they don't realize is that you have to beat the creators time. You can waste millions trying these. They are glitched and even the ones that aren't have insane times you must beat to get the money...simply completing or winning the race isn't enough.

 

Don't waste your time ormoney on them.

I didn't have a problem with them yesterday, the challenge time is listed and you can back-out and not lose anything if you don't think you can beat the time. Most that I have seen are CR 5 laps with challenge times of 2:30+ in supers, which is easily doable even in a stock car. Haven't lost any money on them yet, but probably won't do them much more.

I didn't make any money when I was doing them solo, I was just getting back the 250k I spent getting into the race. I did it with a crew member and the 250k was split between us which meant I lost money.
