Yesterday I watched a TV program about drug trafficking in Spain

Recommended Posts

One of my country’s best journalists Jordi Evole, had an interview about Drug Trafficking with Roberto Saviano, an Italian famous author of the book Gomorra. This Italian author said that Spain is the number one country in the world when it comes to drug trafficking for many reasons:

13948188061.jpg

1. It’s very close to Africa (16km without counting Ceuta & Melilla) and since Morocco produces a lot of Weed and Hash in some of it’s country side, guess where Spanish citizens and Moroccans go with al the drugs?

2. Since many Latin American countries and Central American countries were Spanish colonies in the past, Spain has good economical relationship with them. This means, that Drug Cartels can take that to their advantage in order to ship drugs to Spain.

3. Spain hasn’t got any proper style mafia like Italians do (Camorra) or the Russians (Russian Mafia). Spanish gangsters basically work for someone else who is in charge like the Colombian Cartels, Russian Mafia, Mexican Drug Narcos… Ergo, any mafia can come to Spain to establish their operations without the risk of getting involved with a war between mafia since there is NO Spanish Mafia.

4. Spain has a lot of coasts either on the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Both have “Hot Routes”. The Mediterranean sea has hot routes from Africa and the Atlantic from South America.

Other Shocking issues “Roberto Saviano said”

-“Cocaine use is very popular. Even people who you wouldn’t imagine in your group of friends might take Cocaine.”

“Only 2% of drugs that are being trafficking get seized by the police”

“Most of 50km of Coast in the “Costa del Sol” area in Southern Eastern Spain has had buildings constructed with Italian Mafia’s money”

“The Real Estate Bubble has been a way for mafias to launder their money. The money that f*cked up Spain’s economy was coming from the Mafias investing money on Real Estate in Many places in Spain”.

“If you had a list of all banks in Spain, I guarantee that all of them would have illegal connections to Mafias.”

“Except for the Spanish citizens, everyone else know that Spain is the destination chosen for many mafia bosses to live in.”

Former Basque Country terrorist organization ETA is linked to Drug trafficking. But the Spanish Left Wing political parties don’t want to say it because, It’s easier to make peace with Political Terrorists and impossible to make it with Drug Traffickers”.

Not really that shocking.

Where's all the herb? I can only ever get hash over there.

I guarantee that anything you want you can find it in the nightlife areas of any city in Spain.

i agree with this man. i went to one beach front club in Barcelona a couple of years ago... no drugs to be seen. come 11pm... i was offered ecstasy and cannabis. there was people on the beach smoking crack and opium.

i'm confident anything can be bought in any European city. only difference is the laws and punishments. also the supply quantity.

I don't know much about this subject but is well known that during some time (early 1980's that I know, when the heroin began to spread out, hitting especially pretty hard here in the Basque Country) ETA declared their own war against drugs, as they considered that it was destroying the Basque society and misleading the youth from the revolution and that all BS.

It began in 1980, with a bomb attack in a pub of San Sebastian named El Huerto and they continued killing dealers and attacking places related with the drug dealing the next years, I don't know for how long.

There's the theory that back then the authorities introduced the heroin in the society; I don't really know what to think about it, I wouldn't either be surprised if it was true...

I don't sympathize with ETA and their ideas but in my opinoin this may be the only good thing they did.

Black & White

I used to do my research on organised crime. Spain is perfect for a Mafia boss. Most Spanish police officers and government officials are corrupt and are willing to turn a blind eye for a sum of money. That's probably why some of the "seized" drugs and weapons aren't ever heard of again. Spain is a great place to start criminal operations. I know Spain is good for selling fake cigarettes, same with firearms. I know some famous Mafia bosses have been caught hiding in Spain, such as Domenico Rancadore. Rancadore was once known for controlling a large part of Palermo back in the 90s.

There are some worrysome level of corruption between politicians but saying that most politicians and cops are corrupts is a blatant exaggeration.

I don't know when or where have you got those facts, dude.

For some odd reason, I kinda see a pattern with Spanish speaking countries and the drug trade.

I guess it kinda makes sense. Almost every country in South America speaks Spanish, South America evidently has a good climate to grow pot or cook meth or whatever, the politicians and police there can be bribed to look the other way, etc. Crazy sh*t.

The problem is that cocaine comes from coca leaves, which only grow in the Andes mountains (Bolivia, Colombia, Peru). No one is really doing much about getting rid of coca plants because they're so useful in other ways to the locals.

Drugs are usually smuggled through West Africa and then go up to European countries. When it comes to the US, most drugs are smuggled through Central America (mainly Mexico), and from the Caribbean (above Colombia) into Florida.

Pot is also grown in these countries but in less quantities, and I've hardly heard of meth production going on in South America.

This.

I've never heard of anyone who does meth here in Brazil. Fortunately, it's still very unpopular around here, unlike crack, pot and coke which are constantly getting seized by the police.

Drug traffic, wars and all of that stuff won't ever cease to exist, because that's what moves the world. I just feel sorry for pacifists due to the fact that they will never get what they want.

At least we have a decent Police Force than can catch all these motherf*ckers.

Spain sucks

It still hurts

The day of revenge will come Alter.

There is no need for revenge, you guys have more cups than us.

And that shall be a solace? That's not important to us. We want more cups and we also want revenge. We think it's time for us to win World Championship and European Championship again, sucks to be always the second or third. 1990 and 1996 are too long ago for us.

governments are corrupt. they tax the high level suppliers and confiscate large shipments to increase the price.

fcuking fact.

If it's a fact then you should have no trouble demonstrating it.
