I have no interest in the game anymore

I’m done with the game.

The truth is that I haven’t been playing GTA V for about two months. With GTA V, I am strictly speaking about the Singleplayer, since I don’t find Online interesting at all, no matter if I play online by myself or with a team.

I recently bought GTA IV for PC (playing gta for PC for the first time since 1997), installed the ultimate graphic mod, and various other mods, and by playing the game I realized what I miss most. What struck me most is that all is that the most important aspects of any GTA games feels a lot more solid in GTA IV, that is, driving and shooting which the game is based on. I find it more fun to drive vehicles (as long as it isn’t motorcycles) from point A to point B. There is more sense of weight to vehicles and crashing feels more devastating.

The consequence of a high speed crash, bad timing while marking a sharp turn, or even worse turning the car upsidedown, makes driving much more entertaining and exciting. Because there is always a risk to lose even because of rather minor mistakes. If I land on the cars roof in a race, then I’m done for it. If I crash, me and my whole car may be totally messed up. The shooting mechanics feels much more brutal, slower and deliberate. There is more sense on ‘punch’ when you fire your weapon, and since the movement is less fluid, gunfights become more slow-paced. The melee combat is also far more interesting. You can’t kill someone with one punch, you can use different techniques and learn to apply them.

GTA V does obviously do a lot of things better than GTA IV, but in my opinion it does many things worse. I’m not going into detail into why I’m bored with GTA V, but, it does however boil down to this: focus on accessibility and online.

For a lot of videogames, there is always a time to go ‘’fully mainstream’’ and to get the big crowd, you’ll have to go 100% into it. That’s why I’m off the boat because I already know what to expect from GTA if the franchises new leadwords is ‘’streamlining and accessibility’’. Because all that stuff is already in other games. There is nothing new to it, all that it does is to compress the skill gap and remove what I find interesting about the game. Now I’m just waiting for a PC version of GTA V because the console game will never offer what I want. Hopefully the PC game will be released in an acceptable state, with mod fixing the games shortcomings.

Please share your opinion, but don’t expect me to go into debate about it, because its just a matter of taste; either you like casualization or you don’t. I don't like it because I don't find it entertaining, neither do I find online entertaining.

"There is nothing new to it"

And that's where you're wrong.

IV had better shooting? Since when do bullets do a 90 degree spin while shooting?

I did not state that there is nothing new to the game. If you put the sentence into context, it says there there is nothing new to making a videogame casualized.

Let the guy state his opinion.

Suprisingly, a lot of people would agree with him. Just cause you think it's the best thing since Jesus walked on water, doesn't mean you need to rip him.

if this was a thread praising V you'd all be "oh wow you share the same opinion as i do, mad respect have a post like thread of the year 2014 ooh kill em"

while i agree with you OP, your thread is pointless.

Whilst this thread isn't needed, the replies do show off how stupid the members are in this section.

The crashes and car damage was a huge step backwards in V. In IV, I used to spend lots of time crashing and smashing up cars for fun.

In V, you crash into another car at top speed and you get a little scratch on your bumper and no feeling that you were in a bad accident. It sucks.

In all seriousness do we really need more of these threads?

In all seriousness do we really need more of your posts? I mean all you do is bitch about the critics, you probably act like "Oh my :O this f*ck has a different opinion than me lemme' go post on how much of a stupid doo-doo head he his because of that" when you see posts/threads like this.

I had no interest in reading your post, but still cared enough to respond.

Ironic isn't it?

I'm happy with the gameplay, i just cannot bear the lack of activities and the broken spawn rate of the police when you are wanted( it makes shootouts feel arcady and silly, and it does not give you an opportunity to enjoy the gunfights, which are very hard due to the stupidly fast spawn rate of police reinforcements. You just shoot one cop, and then 6 more spawn from all directions around you.)

I also only play single player. In my opinion gta should have stayed single player only. Maybe we would have not have substandard gta games if online was left alone. We need a single player dlc.

Lol exactly. It's hilarious whenever one of these threads come up and a bunch of people who "don't care" take the time to respond.

Anyway I haven't played V since the Business pack released. I'm going to leave it for a few months before gong back I think. In the mean time I'm playing between GTA IV, South Park TSOT and I just bought Payday 2 today.:)

THE GHETTO JEZUS

I lost interest in V after I finished the campaign so about a month after the release and since then I have only touched it about 3 times. Currently I haven't been playing any video games as I lost interest in gaming in general. But when I do play some games, I would either play IV or turn on my PS4 and play BF4 and I enjoy that more than V. And I kinda regret spending $90 on the special edition for V when i don't even play it at all.

It feels like GTA have taken the step to become a game in which you play through the storyline and then what's left is Online. I hope that it wont become they new trend but I fear it will. The thing with the GTA franchise is that if you don't like the most recent GTA game, then you will have to wait many years before another game is released. Its good that Rockstar takes their time to develop their games properly but I can't say that GTA V was worth the wait, or the money.

GTA V is slightly casualized no matter if people admit it or not. If you want to go back to Los Santos then I suggest you wait for the PC version. That's the only hope to bring the game back on its feet.

Why do people feel the Need to tell us stuff we don't care about?

Why couldn't you just stop playing the game and shut up about it? No one cares about why you don't play GTA anymore.

Because Internet.

I have no interest in this thread anymore. Especially as we've had a million 'I'm crying because GTA V' threads already. If no one minds, I'm going to lock this one. Hell, I'm going to lock either way, to be honest.
