Who says GTA 5 is "lifeless"?

So earlier today, I was mucking about in Grapeseed as Trevor when I see these bikers steal somebody's wallet and make off in a van. I chase them down and stick a sticky bomb on the side of the van and blow it up. The van blows up, big deal. I try to ram at the van to get the wallet, which somehow is still intact and fell under the burning van. While I'm ramming it, I see this firetruck come up and get this - they ACTUALLY pull out extinguishers and put the fire out!

Woah, that's cool. Just goes to show, GTA 5 has a lot more life in it as GTA 4.

Whoever says this game is "lifeless" or too scripted has either failed the dynamic missions, or just played for 20 minutes at a friends house.

...or they rushed through it to try to 'beat the game' as quickly as possible

If you knock someone out, the ambulance comes and they have a couple of unique qoutes about how they were too late

This kind of stuff has been there since what? III or Vice City? It's nothing new, really. The firefighter thing is pretty neat though ,see it a couple times and GTA V is the first GTA to do that.

I think it been there since GTA2 (1999) according to a video i saw,and IGN said Peds started getting smarter in that game. But it looks more dynamic in V ;)

It is a lively game. With random events, animals, and a fire department that actually puts out fires, GTA V is the most lively GTA game so far, in my opinion.

"Hey girl", "You are a dick without a dick",...

Gnocchi Flip Flops

Yeah that was a random event, and the fire trucks always come to put out fires. The fire trucks were useless in IV. I still get a numb feeling from the atmosphere at times.

I'm pretty sure in GTA IV there was a rare chance the paramedics would carry pedestrians into the back of the ambulance and drive away, instead of just saying they were too late and walking off. I might be wrong though.

That's wrong. That never ever happened in any of my playthroughs.

I remember an event like that while playing IV. It only happened once or twice. But the ped walks by himself into the back, the paramedics don't help him.

Actually, I remember firetrucks putting out fires in SA too.

Detective Phelps

The Peds and Emergency Services were Retarded in IV except maybe the ambulance service.

Well, the LCPD actually arrest people, unlike my organisation. :p

If someone punches Niko, you can call 911, and the LCPD would arrest the guy punching you.

Correct, and I miss that.

The paramedics in V are as useless as the firefighters in IV. It's aggravating.

Yeah this is what I meant, I think it happened when you only injured someone (and they would stumble about holding their chest) not killed them. Think this was removed in V though.

Detective Phelps

I love the paramedics too! I mean, they get out of the car, shaking the body on the floor, see that the person is dead & just leave... That's fantastic.

Only in 'Murica.

:p

Of course it isn't lifeless, it's only an illusion after you complete the storyline, and then not only you feel like GTA V is lifeless, but you also feel like your life is senseless, too.

Officer Ronson

Well, cops in V cant arrest pedestrians because the unarmed civilian AI doesnt like being held at gunpoint, and therefore to surrender in V you have to stand still. In IV all that was needed is the cop to get near you and then you got beaten with a phonebook or accidentally feel down the stairs while on custody.

The Paramedic AI in this one can revive a ped depending on the death or atleast make an attempt to save them, just right after the Business DLC came out I tested the Heavy pistol on a woman in Vinewood hills and she fell down on ragdoll mode, however she didnt bleed out or die and then a paramedic crew arrives, only the passenger gets out then he tries CPR on the woman, however he fails and then writes a report, saying to himself that he was too late.

Also I like how the AI react to what happens around their enviroment even while performing an animation, I was running lights and sirens with the Lifeguard SUV and I happen to drive really near this lifeguard house, the Lifeguard was using his binoculars and as soon as I got infront of him in a close distance he took them off his eyes for a second then as I got into the distance he put them back on looking at me.
