Has anyone experienced flying through a thunderstorm?

Hope everyones weekends going okay, but I was just wondering if they've ever experienced a full thunderstorm online yet, I think it's never happened to me looking back, and some of my friends say they've only ever seen one in the story mode where Trevor blows up the motorbike camp before going to L.S. Reason been I'm simply curious, always wanted to fly a plane in one, online more than anything because dodging lightning strikes is something haven't done yet with friends. If this already has a topic please link it to me and I'll read it there, just couldn't find one :3

Thankies in advance

I've flown in stormy weather in the game for a great many times...but I've never gotten struck by lightning, so i can't say i know what would happen.

I have....

haven't dodged any lightning bolts.... but when the lighting strikes it looks awesome... as the whole planes reflects the light (lighting the plane bright white for a second or two)

Edit: This was ONLINE when this happened btw, and it was no more than 3 weeks ago it happened....

There are no thunderstorms in GTAO.

Your friends are partly right though. For a while lightning was only seen in select missions, but was added to SP for your free roaming pleasures afterwards.

Sure I've been in a thunderstorm online, once or twice, but maybe my brain is lying.

I've flown in the storms. I don't think you can get struck by lightining though. I piloted a merryweather boat all the way up the coast from Vespucci with a passenger in a storm too. It's was really cool being a boater IRL. The swells were huge!! I'm surprised the dude that came along stayed on board that long. We went all the way up the river to the Alamo Sea and beached it in Sandy Shores.

The dude probably left and made a sammich half way through.. :p

Not in online? D: suppose there'd be a reason to that, thank you guess I'll have to keep it to the story mode c(:

Or it's extremely rare since some say they have, guess just have to be lucky, I don't think been struck by lightning would do much while flying anyway.. I've heard it doesn't generally in reality since there's no earth underneath to discharge it to. At any rate thanks for replies, I'll just keep hoping ^_^

No, there definitely are thunderstorms (with lightning, and controller-rumbling thunder) in Online, I had one happen a couple days ago. They are not common, but they do happen.

Sir Michael

I've seen thunderstorms Online, but I really doubt you'll get wrecked by lightning. You get intense turbulence in storms though.

There are Thunderstorms and Lightning in Online, I had it when me and my friend were trying to see if a bus could survive a huge fall from the cargobob and I shat myself.

I saw a thunderstorm on GTA: Online before back in December/January.

Although I never seen lightning strikes, I did see the sky light up purple/blue at night while it was raining and thundering

I've played Online for 15d 2h and seen it once, maybe twice - so yeah, rare is the right word.

Maybe it only happens when the Gods (R* devs) are playing..

The Angel King

I guess everyone has had lightning in some form Online except for me. :(

If that's that case, then it must be just flashes instead of the actual bolt, making getting struck by lightning impossible, online at least.

I never noticed lighting until a month ago or so. Then again I didn't notice con trails until a few weeks ago or so either.

So you are saying you and a random stranger went up the coast in a boat during a thunderstorm? That just sounds awesome.

Online needs more severe weather. Maybe a Tornado or a flood or hell how about an earthquake? The game takes place in California lol.

LOL

I tend to not notice these things either, but my understanding was that lightning bolts (or even thunderstorms themselves) were not included in GTAO for unknown (technical?) reasons, kind of like how animals are absent and minimal traffic spawns in GTAO.

Art:Vandelay

The storms make your plane shake a lot which is really annoying for realism except we have completely unrealistic driving and flying physics

Not too long ago. I swear, I've never experienced such strong rain & wind, the fighter was so hard to control. But yes, there are storms occasionally.
