Region locked servers be nice.

I've been playing alot of Dark souls 2 and I am in love with the option to not allow people from different countries invading me. It also locks out summon signs also so when I want to summon or be summoned by someone I don't have to deal with lag. One huge downfall of Dark souls 1 pvp was the lagging backstabbing brits.

 

This feature be nice to add in GTA Online. Have SOME servers re-allocated to have only certain regions connect. Such as north America, Europe, and Asia. This will help alot when you keep getting killed by some lagging Brazilian or what ever country is known for lagging bullsh*t. Tired of having to put a clip into someone just to kill them then turns out "location - "insert country."....

However, I'd prefer a vote to blacklist specific players so you have a higher probability of not being matched with that player in the future.

SOME servers not all.

Its an option in Dark souls 2. Could be added in GTA. Toggle ON/off. Simple.

 

I for one don't like dealing with people that die 2 seconds later after you put a sniper round in their face... or when they survive 5 sniper rounds.

I agree, maybe a language barrier would be more effiecent.... Like when you sign up (for social club, or online) you have to choose your language.... And you could block off certain languages..... Idk how it would work exactly, but it sounds way better than knocking off entire countries.....

Some languages are only spoken by a ''few'' people which results in a minor population of GTA: Online players speaking that language.

 

Take my dictatorial socialist sh*t country (Denmark) as an example.

The change of meeting another Dane in GTA: Online, on Xbox is more likely 1:1000000.

That's gonna be some pretty empty sessions I'll be kicked into then.

As far as I know, my Japanese friend bought an American copy of GTA V since the GTA V release date in Japan was about month later than the normal release date here. Then when it finally came out in Japan he had to buy a Japanese GTA V copy to play with his friends from Japan in GTA Online. A few times I have tried joining him when he's playing his Japanese GTA V copy and I get some sort of "compatibility" error message screen. My firend has to be playing his American copy of GTA V in order for us to play together. The lesson here? Not exactly sure which countries are different but it seems Asia, or at least Japan, already have their own separate servers if they use the Asian/Japanese copies of GTA V.

 

On a side note, I've played with my Japanese friend often enough since GTA Online was first "released" and never noticed him lagging unless the lobby itself seemed laggy. Lately, it does seem that the GTA Online servers are more laggy then they ever were before for me while other Online games seem to be working fine.

Anyway, no to region locked. It's absolutely not necessary in GTA. I regularly play with people half way around the world from me (either direction) and it is fine.

I live in Europe but I hate playing with europeans since they have bad connections and play games immaturally. You think I would like to only be able to play with them only til the end of time? No i wouldnt. I dont want to be shut off from the USA.

Don't really see why OP feels the need for this, i've only experienced lag once in my entire time playing GTA V.

I don't care much as long as I don't have to hear foreign languages, particularly French. But most of the time I have all players muted anyway, so it's okay to play with people from other countries. It just gets annoying when they lag and jump forward and backward and suddenly appear behind you and kill you.

What about throwing you into sessions with the other scandinavians, including the people in the east with the weird language.

 

- Germans have own sessions

- Austrians with Swiss

- French own (I guess that's the best for everyone)

- Americans with Canadians

- Brits with Irish

- Aussies with Kiwis

- Italians own

- Belgians and Dutch

Etc.

 

Or R* could simply seperate by languages and make exceptions with countries like the Scandinavian ones that have small populations and throw them together. Congratulations Spaniards, you get thrown into a pool with South and Central Americans. No offense here.

Why did you mention Brazilians when you never mentioned South America? Where's the mention of Australia and New Zealand?

 

No country is known for lagging, it's how far away from the WiFi your console is. I've witnessed Americans with a laggy connection but I don't moan about it, saying "you should have your servers region locked".

 

If you witness someone with a laggy connection then just ignore them or leave for a different server.

Im Aussie and have American, German and Finnish crewmembers that I regularly play with, gotta love that diverse multiculturalism.. I know some pc mmo games are regionally locked but some of those are still laggy as f***
