The topic/thread locking needs to stop

I know this is gonna get locked but if you don't a topic or thread why not just ignore it and disregard it instead of having to get it locked? Some peeps on this site take it too seriously and just going around just trying to lock everything and its getting ridiculous. I can understand locking something thats subjective or doesnt relate to GTA 5 or online but locking something of interest doesn't make any sense it all and is making this site too serious.

There's a support section on the site to voice these things, but some threads contribute nothing and drown out actual content.

Granted a lot of that "content" is people screaming at each other about "chradders" and sh*t, but it's still content. Kinda

Because posting a thread calling out the moderators and admins instead of trying posting this thread in the correct place where it won't get locked and is abiding by forum rules is going to get them to want to read this and re-concider their actions rather than lock this and potentially ban you.

Hey OP, maybe if you decided to put this thread in the correct place it's supposed to be explaining in a civil manner why you think your thread shouldn't have been locked, maybe they would have decided to look into it and possibly opening it? Making you and their day better. Why give them so much crap and just make their job easier?

You can PM a mod and they'll reply to you as to why the topic got locked or deleted but creating a topic like this won't help at all. You can go to the GTA F home page and at the bottom of the page, you'll see 'the moderating team' tab where you can PM any mod and voice your concerns :)

When the Valentine's Day Massacre was released, I posted a very relevant, thoughtful thread that was locked.
It confused me, greatly, as I put a great deal of consideration into what I post. So, I basically reposted it again, only to have it locked again.

It made me want to drop out of this forum, but I stepped away, had some coffee and realized it didn't matter. Here I am.

(here's a link to the post. The final post, by Ciaran, says to keep new DLC topics in a specific thread, but if he'd read my post, it was about how to pay for stuff, not the DLC. toolbag!)

I'm almost certain that there's no Admin, Mod or Ledby that's more lenient than I am on this site...so maybe I'm not the best one to answer the question.

But you gotta remember that on any given day, we get a sh*tton of repeat topics, or topics that should merely be a post in a pinned thread as opposed to a new topic. Plus you're gonna have topics that serve absolutely no purpose at all. If it's in genchat...that's one thing. But we're gonna keep the GTA forums clean. That's what people come to GTAF for and they don't want to have to scroll through nine pages of bullsh*t just to find what they're looking for.

As to "locking a topic of interest", if someone posts a topic...obviously they're interested. That doesn't necessarily equate to it being a worthwhile topic for any number of reasons including the few I listed above.
