Re-Arranging Your Garage

Yet again I am stuck with a garage I would like to move around and make it actually have some sense when it comes to organization (IE: Smaller cars in front, bigger in back, colors that actually match instead of a blue and a red car right next to eachother) Rockstar seriously needs to add a way to re-arrange cars in your garage.

Does anyone know of a way to re-arrange cars?

At this point, the only way to rearrange your cars is to get rid of your cars, and rebuy/steal them... not really worth it in my opinion, and I do hope that they will one day allow us the ability to rearrange cars in our garage, and to swap them out between various garages once the opportunity to buy multiple garages comes out...

I had a stinger i wanted moved from one side of the garage to the other so i did the SP to MP for the new one and then sold the original one. i would have just bought another one but the stinger has a bad habit of giving me the closed top one and i wanted the open top one. the last time i bought a stinger it took me 3 or 4 tries to get the correct one, losing $300k each time when i sold the car back to LSC. I didn't really care since i had over $2 billion at the time. this time i didn't want to take that chance.

I hear ya. The inability to sort by height was driving my OCD crazy especially with the damn sandking in the middle.

 

I used the dupe/sell feature to get enough $ do what I wanted.

if your cars are modded than just SP to MP them in again and put them in the spot you want them. or do you mean someone else gave them to you?

if your cars are modded than just SP to MP them in again and put them in the spot you want them. or do you mean someone else gave them to you?

 

Okay lets re-read what I said and think of some background info.

1) The colors are modded, you cannot get them in SP only in Save editor

2) Someone else did give them to me, how else would I have gotten them?

3) I have a mac, there's no horizon or save editor for the mac. (and my parallels ran out)

So in conclusion. There's no way what you just said helped me

ok i didn't know there wasn't a save editor for mac, but the rest of what you said still could be done SP to MP. that's how i modded in a clean rebel with roof lights and bull bar. i found one in SP, put it in my garage, opened it up in the save editor and changed the value for the lights/bullbar, and then brought it in SP to MP. i could have changed it to a custom color at that time as well.

 

 

I guess your only bet is to get the person who gave you the cars to do it again.

OP the SOP of garage arrangement is you will need to sacrifice one vehicle, one that you don't mind loosing. Just remember once you move them to where you want, you won't be able to sell them. When you repurchase the insurance, the car is recognized as a dupe. So I hope you love your cars as much as I love mine. This only applies to supers, or anything basically from Legendary Motorsports, and all motorcycles.

Before patch 1.11, possibly before 1.10 even, you could force your cars into a new slot after taking one outside and filling that empty spot. But last time I tried I was evicted from my PV and forced to abandon it.

 

I didn't see where this was a problem since you were only hurting yourself by having to re-purchase insurance.

You can still move them without a problem, I shuffled mine around no less than a week ago. You'll only loose one if your garage is full, the rest is just purchasing the insurance all over again for every one that you do move. Downside is you can't sell them, bc they are recognized as dupes, even if they are legit purchases.

You need one free space or unneeded car in your garage, and you will have to renew insurance for every car you move.

The basic idea is:

 

- Drive out in the car you want to move. Stay right outside your garage.

 

- Buy a free Elegy and select to replace the garage slot of the car you're in. Here's where you'll lose insurance.

 

- Drive the car you're in back into the garage and select to replace another car you don't need.

 

Then repeat this procedure as often as needed, using the last Elegy you bought as the car you don't need.

 

EDIT: This is not a glitch, or something that's expected to be patched. It's simply how you'd logically do it, in the absence of a "re-arrange my garage" option.
