NEWS: I haven't been able to plan another sultan meetup and race lately. I'll be back on to race eventually. In the mean time, if anyone would like to host Sultan races for the crew please post the info here and on the social club crew page (link in sig). thank you!

 

Who's up for some quality Mod Sultan RS racing and meetup?

 

Add me, PSN: Retando with the words "Sultan racing" and please consider joining the SARC sultan race crew. It is currently set to open for easy joining. It will make it easier for invites too since everyone in the crew will be a Sultan owner.

 

I'll add dates and times to this thread whenever we plan a race night. If you'd like to run on a particular time and date please feel free to post.

 

We'll race on a large variety of tracks. Some dirt, some asphalt, some jumps and some straight-up road courses.

 

Here's a list of some of my races. We can run your races too.

 

You might want to keep your Sultan at stock ride height/stock suspension due to the rough terrain on many of the tracks. All other car mods are ok too (engine, turbo, etc…) We'll race standard mode, point to point and lap for most races.

 

Hoping to get a lot more Sultan racers in!

Here are just a few of the races that I plan to run.

 

RRW Harmony Tour: That banjo, rooster and dog you hear might just mean you're in Harmony. The perfect spot to drown out the background noise with your own twin turbo tumult. The RRW Harmony Tour is a challenging, gravel and tarmac race. Please drive respectfully.

 

East Side Sultan Sprint: 6.6 mile standard point to point race mixed with paved and gravel road surfaces. Designed for the Karin Sultan RS.

 

RRW Sandy Ring: Retando Rally Works presents the Sandy Ring. A dirt and tarmac lap race with jumps in Sandy Shores. After this race you'll need to scrub your Annis, or your Schyster, or Karin, or...

 

RRW Vinewood Rally S5: Retando Rally Works presents Stage 5 of the Vinewood Rally Championship. Point to point, cross country, multi-surface race from Lago Zancudo on the west coast to El Gordo Lighthouse on the east coast. (stages 1-6 available)

 

RRW Paletbo Bay Rally S2: Retando Rally Works presents stage 2 of the Paleto Bay Rally. Stage 2 is a 4.2 mile, point to point race from Clucking Bell Farms in Paleto Bay over Mt. Chiliad finishing at McKenzie Field in Grapeseed. 20% asphalt, 80% gravel.

 

RRW Whirligig Circuit: Butter up some popcorn and watch millionaires parade around on the big screen after you race the Whirligig Circuit. An onroad lap race brought to you by Retando Rally Works and the Whirligig Theater of downtown Vinewood.

In the event we have a full 16 player lobby, I set up a play list of my races that handle 16 players. It's missing some of my favorite tracks, but it's a pretty good selection and would allow all to race together. Some of these are going to be difficult with that many cars, but it should still be enjoyable.

Here's a playlist I'd really like to run of my recently created races around Harmony. Set to 12 players: RRW Harmony Tour

 

I have a nice set of straight-up on road GP style races that can accommodate more players too: RRW On Road Races (though currently 2 of these are only set to 12, I'll try to update them to 16 before race night)

 

Guilermo has some really fun Sultan-designed tracks as well, but most are limited to 8 players. I'm not sure how we'll go about that if there are more than 8 people in the lobby? May just have to split up for a bit and have 2 people hosting a race.

 

Cosmoknot showed us some of his Gymkhana and rally races last night too - really nice designs and a lot of fun. They are tight and limited to only a few racers so the same issue of how we want to split up. Maybe we save them until the end and a few people can host them at the same time?

 

Also, Catchup and Slipstream will be turned off. Most of the tracks will not have traffic. We are going for some good, quality, CLEAN racing. Of course bumping and crashing happens, so just be cool and wait for the player if you caused a bad crash.

Some mic audio issues and after a playlist it would separate us and I'd have to send out another batch of invites. With some invites going to friends that are not part of the crew and others going to crew members that aren't on my friends list. Would be great to be able to have it all crew members running.

 

We ran my 4 race "Harmony Tour" playlist and Guilermo's 6 Sultan race playlist. We had 8 sultans racing together for a while. That was pretty fun. Then it went down to 7, 6 and 5 before we shut down after maybe 3.5 hours. I asked cosmoknot to host some of his gymkhana, but unfortunately he left or lost connection at that exact time.

 

We managed to get a few photos.

Hey sorry I disappeared. My roommate got home at one point during the second playlist so I took my headset off...(call me old school but I believe it's rude to be on a headset or phone while also having a face to face with someone). Then my wife got home from work so I got off and let her watch some TV. Didn't mean to be rude at all (even though I was, my apologies).

 

But...the playlists were FUN, the racing was FUN...there was some contact but that's to be expected with anymore than about 4 people. Anyone viewing this post, if you like your Sultan I highly recommend you join us sometime, these guys put together a fun event and I look forward to doing it again.

Yeah we've been racing for months now, Fornic8 would be an excellent addition to what you got going here.

Hey guys, I'm gonna plug in my PVR tonight so if you wanna do some casual racing let me know. I figure since we're all skilled racers I can get some good footage...especially on "No Wrong Answers" and Fornic8's "Over and Under" (Could be off about that name). Not to mention some of the courses that you guys made have sections where traffic crosses and what not. Also I'll be sure I have my PVR running for the next event.
