Last night was an interesting night and one that stands as perhaps the best in GTA Online memory.

A player on this very forum requested a Romero Hearse here, which I responded to. Not only did I get him the hearse, but we were in a session for a couple of hours together, crossing paths in a variety of places.

Then, an unexpected friend joined in and we tooled around for a while, as well.

I've been doing more Invite Only sessions with friends to avoid the drama of public, but there was so much going on last night, that it was impossible not to be distracted by fun stuff.

At the airport, there was a 8 person battle with police. Planes and copters zipping in and out, cars flying around, sirens, bullets, and everyone respawning to get back into the airport.

Downtown, we hiked atop a building while a tank was griefing the area while we sniped out the horde of players trying to blow the tank up. Eventually, we were found out and treated to chaos once we respawned.

One question though, is it possible to grab a tank with a Cargobob? A player was trying like crazy last night, unsuccessfully, even though the tank wasn't shooting him down.

It's not possible without the cutscene only SP version of the cargobob, and that one can't even be obtained via save editor,

 

I wish I had friends who didn't just wan't to grind RR.

It's possible to grab a amoured truck with a cargobob but the cargobob performance will decrease I guess it would be the same if you could grab a tank

Yeah, you can pick up a tank with a cargo Bob...I used to call in a tank and pick it up with the cargo Bob and drop it down for someone to cause chaos while I tries to snipe them out of it...ahhh, so much fun.

i dont get why people hide in invite only, voiding this type of situations that make things fun.

Picking up stuff in FM is way harder than in missions (like Coveted, it somehow magically get attached over there) sadly :(

Takes a couple of tries to grab a vehicle in FM

You can pick it up and it is real easy when you learn where and how high above you have too be.

I would think it would be hard to pick up tank being driven by some who doesn't want to be picked up.

Stationary tank is no problamo.. :p

Yes i do it all the time.

 

I posted a picture of a tank of a griefers i put on top of the Maze Building i picked it up while he was still in it.

 

In fact it was in mo-seph "Who puts things where they don't belong thread"

 

I like to do it too when i have a bounty i'll pick up my tank in a Cargobob put it on top of the Maze Bank and wait for all the people to come and try and get me in there buzzards only to be surprised that i have a tank up there.

 

If you have a tank and access to a cargobob i suggest you try it there reactions are priceless

that cargobob need a buff...

 

it get way too slow once you pick up something and gets damaged by small fire arms way too fast.

Yes you can pick up a tank with any Cargobob. It can become a deadly weapon flying above the streets abominating everything.

 

Just hover it and move the left thumbstick slightly to the left (you have to be facing the same way as the tank) which will cause the heli to slightly roll and move to that side. If you are at the right altitude (about half a carlength above the tank) the hook will scrape along it and catch.

 

Enjoy :D

Yes you can fire your tank canon while on the bob hook. I do it all the time, loads of fun.

I'm a level 99 and have never played it either. Have never seen it pop up on the vote screen and Martin never gives it to me as a mission.

Are you level 75? If not then get to 75 and the mission will show up from Martin at some point. If you are then just keep calling Martin until you get it. After you start and complete it you'll see it in the missions list.

I'm well over level 100 and I usually ignore Martin.

dear FW3,

 

dues to extraneous circumstances i wasnt able to grace the forums with my presence over the weekend, however.... i awoke this morning, bleary eyed and tired after only sleeping for an hour... the day was grim, the weather is grey, ,,,,, but then a rainbow appeared in the form of your thread...

 

 

im so happy to learn that GTA:O is not an apocalyptic doomfest of depression and distress, that fun can and will be obtainable for you.... i look forward to many more threads from your fine self as to your positive antics in the world of los santos...

Playing with friends is fun...they dont kill me in my garage or freeze my system
