Downtown Cab Co. Private Fare.. Not Working.

So, I've been playing GTA V for close to a month now and I've finally decided to purchase some properties. I bought Downtown Cab Co. and Googled some of the things you could do in terms of missions. The descriptions say that Raul, the other/past owner (whichever), will call me when those missions are available. I've been playing for a few days and I haven't received a call. I did download Patch 1.11, is that the problem?

I had the same problem, but I found out a solution -by accident, but it seemed to work-.

 

I usually save the game as Michael, by Quick Save. Once I saved as Franklin, and when I reloaded the game, after a few seconds I got the call.

 

You should try this out, too.

Only Franklin gets the special cab missions, however anyone can do regular taxi missions in a taxi.

I normally play GTAO and don't mess around with single player too often since I have 100% and only have my 70 golds on missions left for single player trophies. But I have been ocassionally saving as Michael. A few days ago I saved in a new slot as Franklin. When I loaded up the game yesterday-- as Franklin, he got in a scuffle with the police and got killed. He respawned at the hospital and within 30 seconds-- got a phone call for a private fare.

 

Just something to try if your private fare is stuck--- I've only gotten the call once before back in October (and I completed it right after).

 

In Summary--- quick save in new slot, exit game, restart game and (auto) load that save, and then die....

Alright, good to know! I've also noticed that if you play a fair amount as any other character for a while and switch to Franklin, sometimes you'll immediately get one of their calls.

So I have this same problem, and this is one of a few trophies that I still don't have. I have 100% completion, don't have a previous save from before I bought the properties, except from one that was before you got to play as Trevor. I tried many things, got the property at like 82% completion, got the first call when you buy it, and then went on to do stuff, a lot of stuff, almost all collectibles and all stunt jump I did with Franklin, and no freaking call. I don't want this trophy to be the thing that prevents me from getting a platinum, so is there anything I can do to fix this?

ive had this problem since the game came out, its one of the only trophies i dont have besides a fewonline ones. every month i go back at the game and get frusterated at it not popping up, ive only had franklin as my person. tried the death, saves, ive tried old saves, ive spent over 2 weeks in real time wasting time trying to get this to pop. anything you can think of ive tried and no gd phone call

Normally, the fares are activated when you drive around the location where they start, if they are not being activated, try to go to the airport and steal any of the planes, then fly close to the area where they are suppose to be activated, this will increase the chances of the fares getting started.

 

However, my advice is to drive near the pickup location. Take your phone (in game of course) -> Quick Save -> Create New Save (x/15) -> press start -> Game -> Load The Game -> wait -> and he should call, try driving around the location if necessary.

And remember be Franklin!

 

Want the girl? Simply call 611-555-0126 (yes you can call her from Franklin, Trevor and Michael).

this is prob the best advice i heard, im going to try it hopefully it works. what pisses me off about the 100s of other advice articles on this that i see everywhere is absolutely nobody has said try driving around the areas where they are located. people never seem to want to elaborate where they are. plus alot of other people never say that you get a phone call in any car for these, you dont have to be in a taxi. going to try what you said later today and report back

For anyone still trying to figure these out, here's what worked for me.

 

This can be a little difficult because by the time you're looking up how to trigger special fares, you've probably already bought a bunch of properties, so you're gonna get requests from your other properties more often because they don't appear to be as location sensitive as the special fares.

 

Before we start:

1 - you need to have JUST gotten a property management request. ANY one, it doesn't matter.

(If you are here, pause game immediately and read on.)

I'm sure there are guides if you have trouble getting these but I get them VERY often, just not the ones I want.

2 - you need to FIND THE EXACT LOCATION that the CALL for the private fare came in for other players.

I've tried going to the pickup location but that never works for me, I believe if you have a lot of properties for Franklin that trigger requests in the general area, you'll probably have the same problem.

I used this guy's youtube vid to find the call location for the one I wanted.

 

FIRST, as soon as you have gotten a property management request (doesn't matter which one), QUICKLY get a fare appropriate vehicle if you don't have one already (some require 4 doors), and do a quick save BEFORE the property request expires. Reload the save and as soon as you are back in, PAUSE GAME.

 

SECOND, this is the hard part. You have to GET TO the fare call location, WITHOUT having another property management request come in and expire before you get there. Turning your phone to "do not disturb" will NOT work. If you happen to be in the area then you're fine, but if not, here's some options:

A - if you happen to have another character with few or no properties that require management, you can switch to them, pickup the fare appropriate vehicle, drive to the fare call location, and ask for a hangout with Franklin. Switch to Franklin right before you get to his pickup location. Your character will have Franklin drive, do the hangout, drop off the character, and Franklin should then be a lot closer to the call location.

B - even more inconvenient than A, you can have Franklin call Dowtown Cab for a pickup and have him driven to the call location. Hopefully you do not get another property management request before the cab comes to pick him up. Once there you will need to find a fare appropriate vehicle. The reason this is more inconvenient than A is because while getting a car, it's possible you'll also get a wanted level, and then have to drive all over the place to lose the cops, possibly ending up further away from the call location or worse, dying.

 

THIRD, once you are IN the general location of the fare call with your fare appropriate vehicle, it's smooth sailing for the set up. Just call the Downtown Cab BUSINESS number (the one that is always busy). This will keep other property requests from coming in while you're getting to the right spot. Once there, hang up on the busy signal from Downtown Cab, pull your phone back up right away and do a quick save. Then reload the game from that save.

 

IF you are in the right spot, with the right vehicle, you SHOULD get a call for that fare within a few seconds of reloading.

 

I figured this out just now while I was trying to get the Kill Bill Pussy Wagon license plates. YMMV, but I did all this and got the call on the first try.

This really worked man !! I just called Liz, picked her from the college and we were not just half a mile away from her house when downtown cab ringed up. Nice work friend

And I’m the only bitch over here who first of all took about a week too get them to even call me. Then when I get the taxi fare got your back, I pull out my gauntlet gun and shoot the bikers, then my man gets shot and dies. I even got a text saying “ I don’t think they will be using our car service again!”… Not like y’all gonn see this or anything but I can’t even find anything online about it and I think I ruined all the missions from happening.
