the only thing that made me quit gta4 multiplayer were the god modders.

 

never had issues with people placing ramps and stuff in the open world, i can deal with that but i just cant deal with god mode.

 

to this day i still haven found myself in a server with a person placing barriers and stuff.

you have no idea bro. I play with modders all the time. not once has the mods caused me to lock up. It happens in invite only session, closed friend sessions, and even crew sessions.

 

 

So take your ass back to Walmart and get a refund for the game cause you should be playing hopscotch instead

 

 

Right, my game DVD is f*cked....this has never happened again with any kind of reproductible regularity since he stopped playing, and none of the friends left on my list are admitted modders.

^^ That's completely wrong and I've experienced it many, many times. A guy I used to play with had to delete and reinstall GTAV because he modded his sh*t and every single time he would join my session my game would freeze.

With that said, I don't think the game is in a state of demise.

 

It's normal that the player base slows down with time, it happens with every game after a few months, it's happening right now within an acceptable threshold for an online game in the wake of Next-Gen hardware. Real enthusiasts will stay for years.

 

But if R* keeps allowing jackasses to do what they want and f*ck it up for everyone else, they will lose a portion of their players who would've stayed if it wasn't the case.

 

That's the point I'm ultimately making.

I appreciate the consideration that there's a "style" to my Snapmatics. I watched as the person doing this "mod(?)" literally placed objects in front of me as I moved around, so it was easy to just have the camera out and take photos. Plus, not for nothing, I take and edit photos IRL for my job. It's what I do.

When I'm doing sh*t in a lobby with other players just having a good time and the game freezes on our asses because some f*cking mouthbreathing loser is destroying the lobby with glitches and hacks, we can't just "Switch sessions bro", we gotta get back to Xbox Dashboard and restart the entire f*cking thing and good luck finding the guys you were playing with a minute ago.

 

There's nothing f*cking "fun" about it, it's annoying as hell and frustrating.

 

And they don't go do this in Invite-only sessions because they simply have no one to invite and mess around with, they are solo players who have to ruin it for randoms. And don't tell me "Well then play in invite only sessions" because that's an equally lame argument, I play with randoms often, I'm not a solo player who plays GTA "online" to spend all my f*ckin' time as a lonely refugee in sessions where I'm the only one having fun, that's YOUR deal, not mine.

it is! The lighting coming from what I assume is a LSPD chopper really makes the image pop!

 

But yeah, GTA4 was fun online for about 6months, then the modders got really bad, I had maybe another 3 months of fun at times (when I was not in a lobby with a modder), then it got to the point where the only other players (mostly) in lobbies were modders so I quit playing.

I got killed in my garage for the first time today; got blasted by some little git as I got out of the Pheonix I spent an hour and a half of session jumping to find. Before I could report him, he left the game. Kinda amused at it all though; all that cowardice and setup just for an easy, quick kill.

Okay, I was curious so I did a little research and found out how players do this.

 

1. Build a Lag Switch

While this isn't exactly directing people to cheat, it shows how to build a "lag switch," which is necessary to do what these players do. At around 3:15 he says,

 

"when you are facing off with another player, just flip on your lag switch and you'll appear frozen to them. Run around them and flip the switch off. While the game syncs, you can do whatever you want to them."

 

He then says, "But don't do it to often, because people don't like cheaters!" I laughed out loud!

 

 

 

2. Using a Lag Switch with Deathmatch Content Creator

So, this guy is a toolbag. He's got all the clichés, "hey, guys," "drop a like for me, guys," and "peace out, guys." He enjoys spending his time ruining other player's online experience. He even has time to video himself doing it. (I should be jealous of having that much free time!)

 

The classic part is him boxing in a player at LSC (what someone did to me yesterday). He gloats about how the player can't get out, with a smug commentary.

So, when I have a limited amount of time to play GTA Online because of real-life obligations, I just want to chill out and relax, not have some twerpy, little narcisstic toolbag obfuscate my enjoyment because he's bored. Yeah, I can jump sessions, but that takes a lot of time, too. I've had my console freeze, which if you know, you might as well just call it a night.

 

Anyway, not to keep this thread floating, but I thought these videos were interesting enough to share. It's a relevant topic to GTA Online and it's happening in the "now."

Go to Rockstar's Banhammer email address and file a complaint against this player for both using the exploit (in his video) and for posting videos on how to do it. He's got dozens of exploit videos on his channel... apparently nothing better to do with his time?
