With all due respect OP when you run into ppl like this why don't you just Dind a Mew Session or simply lay on an invite or crew only server? If your on an open session you get what you get. No one is forcing anyone to play with these turfs. And if your playing in free roam you take your chances.

I just report people when they do stuff like this. The very nature of glitching means that its stuff you shouldnt be doing, so its easiest to just report them and leave. Once people start reporting glitchers, theyll go away.

 

I dont remember any sort of report function on 4(I havent played in a long time) which allowed the hacker/glitchers to take control of the game.

 

The game isnt in demise, well over half my friends list play it regularly.

And OP, I don't think it's the exploiters who are ruining the game. I think it's the 2 dimensional gameplay for an online sandbox game that promised more than it delivered. I don't even care about heists, but it'd be great if there were more gameplay options - such as some sort of settings that could be applied to servers (i.e. turn cops off), or a police and robbers game type. Everything now is do this mission that's like every other mission or do a race or a death match. The other game modes (darts, golf, etc.) aren't fun and people don't play them anyway. Rockstar shot itself in the foot IMO.

When you look at data from sources such as microsofts xbox live activity reports you see the number of people playing on line has dropped immensely. And onenif the reasons for that as others have said is the cheats and exploits. Thus becomes a game legitimate players tend to avoid.

 

Its a difficult thing to judge though. As sure if your lucky you still hit a lobby with 10+ people in it. So the game isnt dead its just lost a major percentage of its players

modders turn off many players, it's true, however, in my opinion, the game's design disenfranchises the vast majority of casual gamers, weekend warriors. Casual players quickly learn free roam is a death match, nothing more, nothing less, and if they do not wish to PvP their options are limited to playing alone or with an already established friend base. This is unfortunate in my view as there would be many more players playing if the field accommodated, more easily, casual play.

LOL at all the people who keep on saying this game is "dying". If I got paid every time I read a thread on a forum about how "insert game here" is dying, I'd be rich by now. Glitches happen all the time, and developers do all they can to fix them, but no game is perfect, nor will they ever be in the modern age of video games.

 

Our job as gamers is to observe, report and give feedback so that developers can improve on their product. Instead, most just lambaste, spew conspiracy theories and act like babies.

 

It's no wonder why people think games are still just for kids.

I actually agree.. When I first bought this game I was like "holy sh*t! This is like, the only game I'll ever need to play! It's so awesome!" But after 4 months of dealing with hackers, modders, glitchers, and just your everyday nuisances.. Not to mention the awful community that plagues this game so much more than any game I've played. I found myself basically just trying to defend myself all the time. Every single person I pass tries to kill me. Even people in co-OP missions just trying to run me over, blow up my car, trolling, purposely failing... Sooo I bought call of duty: ghosts.. And now I just experience the same things only without servers crashing, cloud servers being unavailable, 10 minute load times, etc.. OH! And your team mates actually don't want you to die.. They actually WANT to win. Gta:o needs a complete makeover before I'll return. They can pretty much add whatever, but the douchebags who ruin everything will still be around. Hell, the forum is more fun than the actual game at this point.. If that tells you anything?

When I'm doing sh*t in a lobby with other players just having a good time and the game freezes on our asses because some f*cking mouthbreathing loser is destroying the lobby with glitches and hacks, we can't just "Switch sessions bro", we gotta get back to Xbox Dashboard and restart the entire f*cking thing and good luck finding the guys you were playing with a minute ago.

 

There's nothing f*cking "fun" about it, it's annoying as hell and frustrating.

 

And they don't go do this in Invite-only sessions because they simply have no one to invite and mess around with, they are solo players who have to ruin it for randoms. And don't tell me "Well then play in invite only sessions" because that's an equally lame argument, I play with randoms often, I'm not a solo player who plays GTA "online" to spend all my f*ckin' time as a lonely refugee in sessions where I'm the only one having fun, that's YOUR deal, not mine.

I troubleshooted this problem for an hour with him and it always came to the same conclusion : When the guy joins my game, GTA locks up, private session or not. No way to know if other players dropped as well but he would eventually find himself in a session where he was alone after f*cking 5-6 minutes of "launching session"

 

He deleted GTAV from his hard drive, re-installed it and wow, everything works now. Of course he got bored a week later, never to be seen again, probably went back to playing DayZ and we all know what this game was like a few months ago. Fits the profile to a T.

Yea-no. You don't take these chances. These people shouldn't be allowed to the game, period.

 

It was never okay to glitch. It was never okay to hack. These were not things meant to be in the game. Let me say it like this, if I was in charge of the MP service?

 

I'd want to get the names of each person who glitched/hacked and ruin the experience for people who are playing the game NORMALLY. I'd put them in another closed lobby for a month. Fix the hacks/glitches/mods. They'd still be stuck in it. If they tried to break that, ban out of the multiplayer for a week.

 

No player should be subjective to glitching/hacking. It's one thing for players to get killed. That's fair. It's part of the game. It's a whole other story for gltching/hacking to happen on these public lobbies. They're not part of the session. Those people doing it need to get a life, and be put out of the game for a bit as punishment for trying to ruin the public session for others.

 

Yeah, it's not overly serious, but it's getting annoying now. GTA 4's MP was killed due to hackers who just can't leave a game alone with how it is because they're too average/non-creative enough to make something out of the game. GTA O doesn't need to be the same.

First, OP, that picture of the cop car is incredible! That is going in my "Fu*king Saved!" folder.

 

Second, I agree 100%. I have not played GTA 5 since this new attack has started. Driving st a high speed when suddenly an immovable object spawns in front of me?! Then I'm trapped inside an improvised prison made of walls and fences?! How is it fair that I want to play the game and some little prick gets to play god?

 

I regretted spending $60 on this game the moment I beat campaign and realized I had two weeks before Online started. Then, everything went downhill from there. It wasn't even a week before people already found ways to cheat and ruin the game for anyone who wanted to actually get the game to work.

 

I can't remember the last time I was able to join a lobby and not be spawn killed by a level 30 in his glitched tank. Or enter my garage and not be shot while unarmed. Or... or...

 

Yeah, it isn't worth my time or money anymore. Lego Marvel and South Park SoT are both great games. Especially South Park. It may be short, but the delays made it an awesome game. I haven't run into any glitches, errors or problems in either of them. Why? Because they aren't multi-billion dollar fan-crazed games with copy after crappy copy coming out every other year. (Can't defend Lego 100% on that but still).
