What if Niko were to return as the GTAVI protag?

It is very unlikely, but who is to say? We are the fans. Anyone think it would be nice if Niko comes back in pretty much any kind of roll you can think of? A mob boss? A "family" uncle picking up his cousins sh*t? anything.

Has Niko really evolved to a point in which he has to be "immortalized" like CJ or Tommy?

Nah, I want him to fade out before anything stains his reputation for me. Rockstar should do everything they can to distance themselves from past games, let the memories be memories, and the present be the present and all that.

 

I'm thinking the protagonist of VI should be a New Zealander named Okin.

Niko was a nice guy and all but he was one of the worst protagonists for that reason, imo. He was too nice. He just wanted to lay low and have a nice life. He wasn't violent anymore. It was no fun being him. I guess he was okay for GTA IV and all the seriousness that game had, but 1 GTA around himself was enough. I think that they focused too much on making a deep story for GTA IV and forgot about making the guy actually fun to play as.
But if he comes back with some short cameo appearance for a mission or a cutscene that would be really neat.

I think that SonOfLiberty is right here in that Niko's Story has been done, now it's time to move on to somebody else.

If Niko was to return, I think it should be as a supporting/minor character, but not as a protagonist, unless it was some sort of Prequel to IV showing Niko's years in the war or something

Niko won't come back as main character . at least this never was R* politics until that day . but why not as a protagonist . in this case it could be anything a guy infiltrated for the cops , a simple friend (of a friend) , a merchant , could be anything . i loved a lot the less violent side of IV myself . why GTA should be exclusively a game for people that want violence ..

Niko should never return as a protagonist, or even a side/minor character at that. I think the concept of having little references to Niko here and there (such as Lester's to Michael) in future GTA games without revealing too much about whats become of him.

 

Hell, we can't even br 100% sure that by the events of V he's even still alive.

What? He was only 30 in GTA IV. If he were to come back he'd be in his late 30s/early 40s at the most. Michael and Trevor are much older than him.

Yeah, but I don't see how he would come back. I mean, he pretty much solved all of his problems by shooting them in the face and stealing money. What would bring him back? What would you do? Have some mafia attack him for no reason? I don't know.

 

How many protagonists have come back in playable roles in GTA before? If anyone responds, I said PLAYABLE roles. Johnny being part of a cutscene doesn't count.

If it where to happen, the next GTA IMO will come out in 2019/19... And it might take place in Present day. If it does, there has been a 10 year gap between GTA IV's time and the supposed IMO next GTA game that will take place in 2018/19.. Niko will be old, so no. I dont want to see a badass serbian being 40 f*cking years old.
