Car spawns online?

Hi I'm new to GTA 5 online, just finished story a week ago and figure i'd try online out.

Liking it so far, there is just so much to learn and i'm having a hard time catching on, I search for all of my answers but this one I haven't found an answer to.

I seem to only see sh*tty cars in traffic and parked various places online. Even in the area by michaels house, franklins neighborhood, and the normal areas where you see nice cars offline. I remember offline always seeing decent cars in the santa monica pier parking lot, but never online. I was wondering if this is just the way it is? Or if its rank related, I'm only rank 14.

On a side note, any tips to getting decent RP? I like doing the co-op missions, but its hard to find people to play them with and they tend to be difficult alone with the weapons I have access too. Is there anyway to continuously play missions with a group of people? I know rockstar disabled the replay feature due to people farming missions, but I was wondering if i'm missing a part of the process to play the co-op missions. I'm really not a fan of the versus missions yet, everyone has better guns than me.

Thanks for the help.

Your level has no effect on what cars spawn in free roam. It used to influence what aircraft spawned but that has been patched. What cars spawn are random, just join a new session if you don't like the current pool of cars spawning. If you ever want to look for a certain car just look it up on the wiki, they have locations for most cars. Example: http://gta.wikia.com/Tailgater#.E2.80.8BGTA_Online (Michael's Car) If you drive by Grove Street at midnight you can find Gang Cars, they are already modified. Purple = Ballas, Yellow = Vagos, and Green = Chamberlain Families. The cars are either sports classics or muscle.

On a side note, any tips to getting decent RP? I like doing the co-op missions, but its hard to find people to play them with and they tend to be difficult alone with the weapons I have access too. Here's a mission list someone posted a while back. I don't know what the level requirements for them are, sorry.

Here's a list

Mission Payout Contact

Satellite Communications $ 15000 Trevor

Rooftop Rumble $ 18750 Martin

Chemical Extraction $ 15000 Lester

Bust Out $ 15000 Lester

Stocks and Scares $ 18750 Lester

On Maneuvers $ 17250 Lester

Chopper Tail $ 17250 Trevor

Trash Talk $ 15000 Martin

Defender $ 17250 Martin

American Exports $ 17250 Lester

Base Invaders $ 18750 Ron

Extradition $ 15000 Martin

Docks to Stock II $ 15000 Lester

All of these can be done solo which I do 99% of the time.

Play them all on hard for max RP

Satellite Communications pays the best RP if you kill everyone, and the pursing bikers after you get in the semi. 4055 RP for completion plus 1000 and change on top for killing everyone. 25 RP per kill, even more 31 RP if you do it in free aim

Do them on Hard, time varies, and the RP ranges from 2100-4055, but try not to die because you loose 200 RP for using up a life

Thanks for the help.

Certain cars spawn in certain places online similarly to sp. I remember before I got my first PV all I could find were like 5 different cars.

Can't help much on the side note, I've always played for money, with rp being a more supplementary factor.

Definitely random....if you drive in a nice car, nicer cars will spawn all over...if you're in a Baller, Baller's will spawn....in a Felon? Felon's all over...etc etc.

Like in previous GTA games, driving a car will force spawns of that car, as well as cars like it. Driving sedans will make sedans more likely to appear, for example. Some cars have set spawn locations. The cars on the text list from Simeon will spawn at the golf club and Vespucci Beach tennis courts.

You can't store high-end vehicles off the street; they have to be purchased via the phone's internet. I recommend getting a Bravado Gauntlet (looks like a Dodge Challenger; can be found on the street), which is one of the better muscle cars in the game.

Keep playing missions until you unlock contacts for Martin and Lester. Jobs through these two will have higher cash and RP for the most part. Here's a list of missions by rank, with payout & RP info: http://gta.wikia.com/Missions_in_GTA_Online

If you ever get an invite to Rooftop Rumble, do it! Hard mode will get you $18750 and over 3k RP. This is isn't unlocked until your level is in the 70s.

Pausing the game and going to Online, then Jobs, and Host Job, will list all of the jobs you have unlocked, arranged by category.

Also, if you're on Xbox, you can add me and we can run Rooftop Rumble or hunt for cars sometime. GT is IH8PITT.

It's completely random as far as I know.

Strange, because I tend to see about 5 of the same low end cars everywhere I go. These 5 cars change based on the area I'm in, but the common factor is there is only about 5 different types, none of them high end. Having trouble getting simeon cars, or finding the cars that LSC buys because of this. When I do missions, I see all sorts of cars, i'm kind of frustrated amongst other things.

Thx for the tip on cars and wiki link. Now with the missions, I can't even do the easy ones on hard solo because my best gun is an uzi and it has no range. You die alot easier and NPC's are alot more accurate online, so doing any mission solo is impossible for me on hard right now. I can do some solo on normal, but it takes more time than its worth.

I think I figured out how to continuously do missions solo, go to Start > Online > Jobs > Host Jobs > Rockstar Created > Missions. Is that a valid way to continuously do missions solo?

Before you got your first PV? Sounds like exactly what I'm experiencing, do you mind telling me what PV stands for so I know what your talking about?

Definitely random....if you drive in a nice car, nicer cars will spawn all over...if you're in a Baller, Baller's will spawn....in a Felon? Felon's all over...etc etc.

Right, just like all the other GTA's. Unfortunately the car I own and find are all junk lol. Once in a mission I found the F9 (whatever its called, audi r8 clone) and I had it still when the mission was over. Went to LSC just to have my heart broken lol....can't get it insured/modded. Same thing with banshee.

Thanks for the tips man! My GT is the same as my name here, I appreciate you reaching out like that - definitely interested in rooftop rumble lol...

So one last question, now I know how to do solo missions over and over, but is there any way to keep playing co-op (non versus) missions with a group of people (lobby)? Or do you just have to know people and coordinate that whole process.

In regard to the car spawns, the less people in the lobby, the bigger variety you'll see. You'll see the rarer cars in solo and invite-only sessions. They're launched from the single-player pause menu.

Hey thanks a lot! I just played solo for the first time and as soon as I spawn I notice lots of different cars...First one I see is a felon GT, made a quick $9500. :)

On the way to LSC saw an infernus driving around, made me feel good because I see those and bullets all over in single player, and wondered why online was so different, so yes you are exactly right about lobby size and car spawns!

Glad I made that cash, I found out the hard way what happens when you steal the high priority vehicle......Was bummed some guy got the cash instead of me. Does anyone know how much it goes for typically? Dying to know how much I missed out on...And any advice for getting it there safely? I read about the cargobob trick Idk how it works though. Also read to drive it in the ocean if someones chasing you so nobody can have it, that I'm cool with.

The price for the high priority vehicle varies based on the type of car/motorcycle and the amount of damage it has. The most I can personally recall receiving is about 13k, but payouts could be higher.

Always check the outside of the car for sticky bombs, which will be clearly visible. Also, keep an eye out for people waiting at the docks. If you approach the car and it has sticky bombs on it, or the window is broken, or there are players at the docks, don't take it.

My personal method is to steal the car, go straight to the LSC in east central Los Santos (the one in between two loops on the map that you have to go down an incline to reach). From here, and it seems like not many players know this, there is a railroad that goes from the LSC straight to the docks. The rail line is mostly made of bridges and fenced-off sections, so it is difficult to get to you. Check your map and plot a course; I recommend practicing the run a bit in invite-only.

Yeah, it's almost impossible to get a hold of a Simeon car without a chase and/or a fight because the game alerts the entire lobby that you've taken it, and the entire lobby knows precisely where you're going with it. Sometimes, you'll get lucky and no one will care, or the nearest troll will be too far away to stop you. My advice is learn to drive fast as f*ck. And get good at navigating the city. At speed. Every time I take a Simeon car, that's what it always boils down to. Get to the shop that makes the most sense, fix the car and paint it the first classic color on the list (black) to save time/money. The moment you spawn outside of LSC, set your GPS for Simeon (use the quick-GPS, not the map/highlight feature from the Start menu...) and run for Simeon's like a bat out of hell.
