Niobium
But saving a hooker from being stabbed is meant to happen anywhere in RDR as long as the event takes place in a town, no? Maybe but it really seemed to happen in that town and right outside of the hotel above the bar.I guess. Still, RDR did a better job with the random events than V. At least RDR's events don't happen only in one place, like V. Algonquin Assassin
BrokenLizard
Guys, don't you understand that the limitations of your 8 year old hardware is the reason why the events aren't random? Jeez, if you guys got infinite random events then you wouldn't have interiors... D T
Non Funkable Token
GTA V random events are just fine. The same endless random events in RDR were annoying. I was sick and tired of those bitches calling you for help only to ambush you, and the other ladies whose chariots were robbed. Bitches, I have things to do......... Jeez, if you guys got infinite random events then you wouldn't have interiors... Both things you listed have nothing to do with console power. Random Events is scripting based to load on the fly, just takes time to do. Interiors are a streaming asset which main fault is a disc space limit which only one console suffered with. And of course again, time to make them.
D3ADSH0T
Events in RDR are scripted as well. I have saved that hooker from being stabbed countless times in Armadillo. Also IV does not have random events. It has people you meet and you do 2 or 3 missions for them and you never see them again. IV having more than V is just an outright lie.THIS! GTA V has 56 random events. GTA IV doesn't have random events, they're called stranger missions. It pops on the map when u are in their radius. There are 30 Stranger missions for GTA IV and they all have set locations. RDR has a few random events that pop out of nowhere and a few that happens at set locations. GTA V's are triggered by entering a specific zone. In RDR you could be riding up a track you normally don't go and come across what might be a scenario that was repeated else where and come back to the same spot sometime later (assuming you never bothered with it) and it won't occur in that spot. GTA V is nothing like that. You can ignore The Lost van holding up the Suburban and come back to it later on and the same scenario will repeat itself. I mean that hooker example you used is basically what every single one of GTA V's "random" events are. True, they could occur anywhere on the map, but that was probably because the terrain was mostly the same (ex: no overly-complicated maze like cities to require different AI paths every single time), and they were also pretty monotonous to tacke since you didn't have that many options to complete them. With V, even if most do happen in the same place, you have a tone of ways to complete them by using the sandbox. Also, there are a couple of random events that do seem to happen anywhere, like cop chases, criminal shootouts and armored vans.
LightningLord
Exactly. Like how I know someone gets their wallet stolen 4 times a day by the same guy.
