The best method I have found is to not get one of these crappy things. I managed to avoid problems of getting rid of one by never getting one. Flawless method.

Nothing that you can do to a Ratloader will make it look as good any real rat rod. The ones we get look like they were dredged out of a sea cave. I got a free one when they put them back to see what the hype was about as I had never seen one in game. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. Replaced it with a jerry can of fuel and some stickies.

Nothing in GTAO will look like its real life counterpart but I'd rather drive this than a Sandking!

Just kidding. I really do like my Ratty though. As others have said it makes a great show truck and a good truck for cruising. Being a part of Los Santos Car Shows, I can see a very good use for this truck. Of course it drives like sh*t! Have you not looked at the pounds upon pounds of rust on the damn thing?

but on point i dont have a ratty with my main character, or indeed my second character (anymore) as i had to get rid of it to make room for my turismo...

 

but being on ps3 i have a secondary account, that does have a ratty, just not leveled up enough yet to give it that real rat-rod look...

 

at the end of the day not everyone wants a garage full of super cars, not everyones a muscle head or an MC members...

 

personally i had DID and three characters with distinct personalities...

Don't get me wrong, I wanted to like it. It's another car that could look great but LSC has never heard of a grinding/polishing wheel or even Bondo. I get that it shouldn't look like its off the showroom floor but R* made it and some others,(Voodoo)look like they're off the seafloor. I also hated that it turned worse than a derailed Brown Streak. This, as with any car in the game I don't begrudge anyone owning, driving and modding as they see fit, it's just not my thing. If they allow us more garages I would probably get one back as a show car, but I prefer to keep vehicles I like and use in my limited space.

upgrades were free too.... when ratloader was released in the DLC it, along with all upgrades, were free.

Before R* made them permanently free along with permanently free upgrades, the Rat-Loader was a very rare car. It was hard to find, as it only spawned in one area. It also has a lot of customization options. A lot of us just like the old school look.

 

I'm not sure why, but when R* took it out and brought it back, they changed the texture to add extra rust. It really takes away from the look of the vehicle. Not sure why they did this.
