Skills decrease overtime?

Is it true that skills decrease overtime if you don't work on that skill? I remember either hearing it or seeing it somewhere.

Its during the loading screen. If you stay away from San Andreas too long, your stats will decrease.

 

I think it takes quite a while though.

I havent been on since Rockstar released the Valentines day massacre to get the gun. And my stats are still the same. Cept Lung Capacity it went down a smudge bit.

OT, yea they do reduce over time. My 1st character's driving skill went down by 1 bar cos I didn't use her for a couple of weeks

They do go down. Few of my friends dont play anymore since the game became socscrewed by cheats and when I check my friends list in game ive noticed there stats decrease slowly.

I've noticed non-maxed stats decrease by 1% every so often... I think once you hit 100% it stays though.

When R* mentioned stats would decrease as your character lives his life while you're away, I thought it would be like my stats all together would slowly go down and would take like 2 months for them to fully go down. Nah, turns out they're not affected at all. Then again, the longest I went without playing GTA was a week...that's long enough, right?

Those stats are pretty neat. Didn't know about this feature.

Basically, the stats are like a bounty where they're only in effect when the game is running (GTA:O only, not SP I'm guessing).

I tend to do a bit of everything so I'm not sure I lost any stats.

The only time I've noticed my stats go down was when I stopped playing for a few weeks back in December, I came back and my stealth and Lung capacity both dropped a fraction of a bar, I never use stealth and hardly ever swim (and I play a lot) and I've never noticed my stats going down by playing without exercising the stat. Also both of those stats we at 100% prior to my break and it didn't stop them from falling.

 

It's weird though because I believe the other people in this thread who say they have had it work differently, maybe this feature is glitched (which would hardly be surprising) and isn't working the way it should.

I know some peeps that stopped playing for a couple of weeks and notice a little drop. I myself stopped playing for about 3weeks to a month a little while back and when I returned to the game my stats were intact.

I have maxed all my stats except piloting which is at half, and I have never seen any of them go down. I do play quite regularly though...

I've noticed I keep getting notifications that my driving stat has reached 100%, ergo it must have fallen in between ;-)

I maxed my stats completely on my first character and all seem to stay that way except Lung Capacity and Strength - the secondary stats I guess?

I stopped playing for 4 1/2 weeks when i got a new job IRL, came back online, and all my stats were maxed out as i had left them (except for strength but i heard it had something to do with a patch that reset everyones strength to 1 bar, so there)
