Even though gta VI is down the road 4and 1/2 years away what map do you think they will add next? I really don't want to hear "liberty city" because it is a "cope and paste job". Really, what do you think LV? SF? VC? Or even a new map.

In a perfect world, SF and LV will be created and added to V's map to create a 100+ square mile map. But I doubt they'd do SA again. Probably GTA VIce City

Is it actually possible for R* to add a new map to GTA V? And would it work both online and SP? Im just asking cus I have no clue how that stuff works :)

Wouldn't mind a made up location. As long as it is big, diverse and has (at the least) 2 main cities. I'm all for it.

Anywhere city from Grand Theft Auto 1

Anywhere City was in GTA2 not GTA (1997) according to GTA Wiki and Wikipedia :)

I think for the next game, instead of a map that is modeled after one specific part of the country, they should combine multiple areas and landscapes of the country together.

For example:

Multiple cities:

maybe a big mainly sub-urban city like LA, a dense urban metropolitan city like NY and a smaller rural city like Kansas. This give a sense of going somewhere else when traveling the map multiple cities that all have the same feel to them would be a waste of time

Varied landscape:

-mountain ranges like the rockys or Appalachians, valleys, canyons, caves and snow peaks

-an expansive countryside with lots of farms and actual forests, and wind farms, little villages, cabins in woods and mountains, animals roaming all over the place, almost as much as cars in some parts of the country. Ranches, grazing fields

-a big desert with rock formations, an Area 51 style place, ghost towns, cowboys, cactus, cow skulls,

-rivers that have channels all over the map, even through the cities, waterfalls, streams, dams, a few small lakes or bodies of water every here and there, marshlands,. And two of the cities being seperately by some sort of bay.

-the road style between the 3 cities should be very distinctive. The sub-urban city should have the well paved, shiny roads we have in v. The urban city should have fading roads, with bumps and crack every here and there and the rural city should have beatdown streets and with lots of pothole and craks. The country side should have barely paved roads, some places where the tar is completely scraped off and some dirt roads. The desert should have souly dirt roads, with only one or two paved roads.

Also the dirt roads should be more muddy, grassy, and wet in the country side while the desert has dry, dusty dirt roads.

-architecture also be distinct between the ares, sky scrapers and business complexes in the urban city. Lots of residential, middle class areas in the suburban city. And run-down homes and buildings in the rural city.

-the ambient music and what you can hear in the background in should also be distinct. The skies should also be filled with objects that match the are, like planes and helicopters in the cities and birds and crop dusters in the country.

FINALLY NO HIGHWAY THAT CIRCLES AROUND THE COAST OF THE MAP. this was in my opinion Vs biggest weakness. Horrible idea. It makes trips very linear and contributes to the map feeling smaller. The should make it weave through the map and cut be cut off at some points in the map and be restarted at another location

As much as I love Los Santos (LV & SF), Liberty City & Vice City, I think it's time for a change.

Something new & a little bit different to coincide with the next generation of consoles.

Definitely multiple cities, or at least 1 large city & 2 or 3 large towns with their own airport etc. (4 or 5 times the size of Paleto Bay at least)

Maybe a map that starts from the Southern states like Louisiana & parts of Texas.

Imagine a New Orleans style city (or large town) with French Quarter architecture mixed with some modern buildings.

A Mardi Gras style parade for a few missions. The above ground cemetery. (great for shoot-outs). Swamps, alligators & inbred red-necks.

Vehicles would include paddle steamers, swamp boats with the big fans on the back, hover craft, Skimmer planes, The General Lee style muscle cars etc

There would be a large naval base down there, as well a separate civilian airport.

Cuban & Mexican drug running missions etc.

As the map heads North, you would travel through parts of Western Texas (desert style areas with ranches & oil wells etc) through some central states like Oklahoma & Nebraska.

Corn fields, farms, a couple of mid sized towns to explore, some forest & wilderness areas with rivers, a few decent sized mountains etc. (maybe a bit of snow on top)

There would be a large regional centre with it's own business & industrial districts & a moderate sized airport.

You end up in a large city, loosely based on Chicago, with the Great Lakes as a backdrop.

The usual city missions (mob, drug, gang based etc).

Lots of enterable interiors. Multiple safe houses to purchase all over the map. (fully customisable of course).

Whatever we get for the GTA VI, I just hope R* gets the quality versus size ratio right. No point in having a large diverse map if there's not much to do in it.

You still need distance & visual barriers between areas to give you the sense of scale & isolation, but there has to be interesting things to see, do & explore.

Damn, I can't wait now.

I think Asia could have plenty of potential. And not like what you think is "stereotypical" Asia, like Sleeping Dogs. The nightlife in Tokyo for example is INSANE.

But since it's GTA, they'll probably stay in the US and think they should make a game in Detroit. Being 2 miles from Detroit, I think that would be a really interesting story. You would have the city, suburbs, rural, and there's even Belle Isle. You have the black neighborhoods, the white side, Mexicantown, Little Iraq, Asian neighborhoods and Hamtramck. The state of Michigan is surrounded by water also.

Instead of V, where your making millions and surrounded by rich people, you would be chasing the money (not like some black thug) and attempting to run your own syndicate.

Not doing errand boy jobs like in all previous GTAs. They really could do something there, it had LOADS of potential and diversity.

HOW'S ANNIE?

Am I the only one who wants Texas for the next setting? There you've got plenty of variety such as desert, forests, mountains and beaches. Plus then you've got a nice gleaming city like Texas, which contrasts well in comparison to run down border cities like El Paso. Then we might be able to get the Mexican Cartel story line we all wanted so desperatly in V.

I'd love a city we haven't been to before. Maybe sonewhere based off San Diego or Washinghton. But I doubt Rockstar will announce a new city in the GTA Universe anytime soon, so I predict Vice City.

I say carcer. Go back to the big city but dilapidated as f*ck. Have there be some forests with random spawning serial killers. That would make everything unpreditable and fun. Burgershots that you can go to but the cash registrar flips because of his job, and you kill him and leave.

you get beat at a game of pool and the guy wants double the agreed bet, sh*t LIKE THAT.

My ideas for GTA's next map seem to change each day. I think today I'm feeling like they should do West Texas, and have a bunch of small towns full of gun-toatin' rednecks, and some ghost towns thrown in for added spookiness! The story could be about drug smuggling across the border, and also involve the Mexican cartels hijinks, but portray them a little bit more light-heartedly. Yeah... I'm liking that idea the more I think about it.

(And I swear to goodness I wrote that before I read your post, NIko Vercetti. I'm feeling you. :) e: And Wayne Ker too, sort of. #GTATexas2026)

e: But any area with lots of small towns and lots of countryside would work for me. (Of course there'd have to be at least one big hub city) It's high time the mid-west and mountain states get some representation in GTA. I was thinking about the town from Twin Peaks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twin_Peaks), and the town from It Came From The Desert (

), which is what made me think of Texas. Edited by Joe Chip

Are we looking to bring back Donald Love as a protagonist or something?

Please somebody tell me they got the joke

haha...Kyle MacLachlan.

I knew he voiced Donald Love, but forgot he was in Twin Peaks.

Most people I knew back then were hooked on that show, but I never got into it for some reason.

I want the Texas + deep south states in the form of one state in GTA set in the 1970's or 80's. (San Fan + vegas in 70's with hippes/red necks/bikers/mob would also be good for the next game though and its probably more likely but Texas + Deep South also needs to be done)

(I just dont think there would be enough in Texas alone - and as they say Bigger is Better.)

I had thought of just Texas with maybe 3 cities (like Dallas, Houston and one with a blend of Austin/San Antonio/El Paso but then i thought all those cities are not VERY well known and maybe a big GTA state (like San Andreas) would be better since more areas could be included in the game that otherwise might not have the features to make it into a GTA game.

So i was thinking of one state covering Texas + Deep South (mainly just New Orleans Louisiana/Mississippi area with a bit of a Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia feel in the outback as well so that you could include moonshining/KKK in the backyard swamps and stuff) with 2 large main cities like 1.New Orleans 2.Texas city like Houston and maybe 1 or 2 small cities and an actual border with Mexico.

My guess would be Vice City and a couple of other cities, the map just as big as Panau (from Just Cause 2) and the possibility to change the driving to the one in IV.

Vice City no doubt. We sow SA, we sow LC, and now it's time to see VC in HD Era.

^^ The most likely location that they will revisit next is SF and LV and that would be the best move imo. lets hope its set in the late 70's.

Its too soon to see VC in the 80's again and if its not in the 80's(or late 80's) then there is no point going back there as that was the only time anything was happening there.
