Car upgrades we need to have.

Our garages and the cars contained in them are pretty much the central aspect of "ownership" in this game. That said, we should be given proper access to upgrades since the meat of the game is acquiring these cars and this is what I think it should look like. Now I've listed upgrades I wish we would get along with the ones we already have.

- Nitrous boosts (I know this one is coming which is great!)

- The ability to paint cars and add decals.

- We need tires to have different functions and perform in their respective functions. I'm going to expand on this one.

- Road tires - these tires are for normal road use, they provide medium traction on roads and in rain but poor in snow/dirt. Driving on dirt slows you down by 25%

- Sport tires - These tires are effectively summer tires, they're grippy when it's dry and provide minimal traction in bad weather and in offroad situations. driving on dirt slows you down 50%

- Racing tires - These tires are extremely grippy in dry conditions but very poor on wet roads, driving on dirt slows you down 70%

- Off-road tires - These tires provide medium traction in any weather condition and driving on dirt does not slow you down.

- Drive-train upgrades to convert 2WD vehicles to 4WD and vice versa.

- Different colored tints for windows.

- engine swaps.

- weapon mods on cars. (who doesn't want that james bond car WITH the guns.)

- Visible armor on cars that actually function like bullet proof windows. (maybe against low caliber guns)

- Making vehicles manual vs automatic.

- A f*cking speedometer

Is the Engine Upgrade we currently have not an Engine Swap? Or is it just a level 4 Tune?

I would love a Speedometer. Sure there are some other mods I would like to have to vehicles...mainly ALL of them having options for modding all the way out, instead of having only a handful being able to be completely laid out.

The Manual vs Automatic thing...IIRC in MCLA, the Manual kids had their cheats, and were a LOT faster than everyone else.

Agree with just about everything you've said here.

To add to your list:

Police/ Emergency sirens and lights.

Law enforcement wheels.

Camo wraps for vehicles.

Supercharger options.

Lift kits.

Slam kits.

Remove the guns from James Bond car.

Race livery (like the Sanchez abd Bati 801)

So many things they could have added, if they do port to PC and current Gen consoles, they HAVE to add more options, otherwise what was the point aside from fancier graphics? Game play > Graphics Rockstar, you should know this.

Engine swaps I'm talking about are for stuff like popping an adder engine in an entity to get the adders speed in an entity for example. But perhaps the added weight would reduce handling to keep things balanced. The idea is so people can use whatever car they prefer so we aren't stuck with a bunch adder/entity races all the time in supercars for example. Just to add variety basically.

Off road tires should be slower on roads as a nerf, otherwise they would be the most balanced tires with medium traction in any weather and dirt/snow don't slow you down.

The 'standard upgraded' tires should be the most balanced/all around IMO, with the other variations being specialized.

I'm not sure about the Engine swap. It would kind of defeat the purpose if we can add the Entity engine in a SUV, for example. You'll get those 3k cars with engines of super cars, and such.

Cars than can go as fast as they should.

Roof options in convertible cars

Rusty effect

Hydraulics

LIFT kits....why can we only lower an off-road vehicle?

Exactly! Bigger tires too and maybe some different tread patterns for offroad tires.

- Nitrous boosts

- The ability to add decals.

- Drive-train upgrades to convert 2WD vehicles to 4WD and vice versa.

- Different colored tints for windows.

- engine swaps (so I can but a real V( with an awesome V8 sound in my Ratloader, or a highreving corquette engine into a Sentinel XS so it matches it's reallife pondon) Why does everybody directly think of sh*tty supercar engines in any car.
In my opinion you should only be able to put V8 and V6, V10 or V12 engines with a tad more horsepower into a car. Like in reallife.

- weapon mod for the JB700

- bullet proof windows

- Lift kits

- Slam kits
- The ability to make (especially muscle) cars rusty, and rusty cars like the voodoo non rusty.

AND: The possibility to make musclecars to real Drag monsters so that you have a chance to beat supercars with a nice overpowered muscle car as this car class is to slow at the moment!

Official nitrous and twin turbo would be nice.

We had nitrous in SA, I don't know why we can't purchase it in LSC.

Who said engine upgrades are cheap? I'd love to see an SUV with an adder engine lol.

If this means scores of chrome adders with their engines removed I'm all for it. :)

Manual transmission can't happen, there are no buttons free to allow you to shift gears.

I'll add a vote for hydraulics, superchargers too.

I'd like to be able to remove rust from the voodoo / ratloader etc

How about the ability to select where the primary & secondary colours split ? Basically paint a car a panel at a time so you can create your own look.

Also allow graphics to be changed - e.g. allow a single (bigger) stripe on your Sabre, instead of two or two on a Gauntlet instead of one. On other cars this might mean you can pick which panels are which colour.

It also irritates me that I can't colour code some stuff - firewall on a ratloader, rollcage in a vigero. It'd also be nice to remove some bits of cars - wing mirrors on the vigero and the door mirror on the ratloader for example.

Wheel colours need to match body colours, so if I paint a car a primary & secondary colour I can match the wheels exactly to the secondary.

Picador needs more mods - suspension etc

Brake upgrades that actually make a difference

i like most of the ideas being thrown around here, but have yet to see any mod or upgrade we really NEED, other than Brake upgrades that would actually matter like Crafty said. everything else is only things people want.

The only thing I really want is chrome paint for rims, underlights and neons.

Speedometer and Manual transmission would be pretty cool, but I don't really care much for all that other stuff :/

bloatedsack

good ideas but its turning into forza.

More or less, "this."

Its an arcadey style driver, not a simulation. However, some of this stuff would be nice.. Tire upgrades that matter (I'm in the "custom tires increase grip camp, btw"), chrome rims, and I'm even willing to accept neon lights are all valid.

Superchargers are, more or less, the same mechanic as the turbo in this game. It doesn't need to be so granular as to deal with people arguing a lack of turbo lag. The simple answer is that some cars (specifically muscle cars, the bullet, and most of the SUVs) don't need to have the BOV sound. There. Problem solved. Your turbo is now a supercharger.

A great example of this is the Karin Rebel. It sounds just like a diesel's VVT spinning up, but that massive BOV noise ruins the effect.

It goes beyond that for me, I'd love the sound of a supercharger winding up on my muscle car

1: Will be Extremely Cool

2: Can already paint cars. People will spam decals with nude pictures of women.

3: Tires will be a complete disaster considering the weather in Los Santos changes every 20 to 30 seconds.

4: Will be a big burden to change during or before a race.

5: Yes Please

6: Yes Please

7: People will misuse this like crazy. Rockstar should just activate the guns on the 007 car instead.

8: Bulletproof windows sure why not.

9: Yes

10: and Yes.

Speedometer would be great if cars would go realistic speeds in the first place, which they obviously do not

not so much bc its harder but bc you have sh*ttons more control over what your car is doing and when, im still all for that as an addition

Actually, the nitrous boost was a coding error where it allowed a car to have unlimited uses for the boost upgrade that's in GTA races. It is NOT coming.
