Players ruining my GTAO experience :(

I think racing in this game is epic. It has this very free, nonlinear feeling to it. Even better is it that

R* gave us a giant varied landscape with lots of different cartypes and a content creator to

make races wherever we want. So much

epicness that can be made and raced...

Like rally through the desert, crazy offroading with sandking... I can't even name all the things you could make.

 

Yet... Whenever I join a race, it's always long haul 2, jumps x3, commute, 4way madness.

 

Is the only solution to be a host myself?

Cuz it's a nightmare trying to get more than one

player to join.

When a player join, it's like: "oh.. He's alone.. I'll wait 24sec and see what happens".

Then he leaves after 24 sec, and another player join right after, and the circle goes on.

Otherwise, racing has lost its punch. Those in the beginning were doing nothing but racing to unlock upgrades. Now no one does, because those that have it all don't race anymore and its seems the rest dont care or need the upgrades. Also, like you said people are way too impatient.

OP, most people in this game are horrible drivers which is why the 0-skill required, brainless races are so popular.

 

Any kid in his chromed bugatti can win and then brag about it...

 

Gather some friends/crew members and host actual races. Should solve the problem. And if any random trash talking skill-less player joins and complains throughout the race it means it's working. That you're participating in an actual race that requires someone to actually drive and focus instead of just holding the acceleration without using the brake at all and expecting a spam load of jumps.

The same is with deathmathes. I'm a killing man. I love to kill in GTA. Deathmatches and freeroam battles are my thing except, I'm forced to do free-roam battles now. Every time I start up a deathmatch I get either "Prison Thug Fightz", or "Seal Team 6ix", or "Saving Ryan's Privates", and some others I can't think of at the moment. What if I want to do something that doesn't involve tanks, jets, helicopters, melee only? It's very annoying because I like to get all of my weapon's player kills up to get the tints but it's hard on some maps and it gets annoying when those maps pops up often. I also like a variety of different deathmatches. I don't like to play the same ones over and over. I either get into empty deathmatches lobbies, of full lobbies of maps I don't want play. It's so annoying. It takes me damn near 10-15 minutes just to play one 5 minutes deathmatch.. Who the hell keeps hosting these damn deathmatches?!?!

hmmm it seems that most everyone who are on the forums hates the people who are not on the forums because they ruin things I suggest everyone on the forums combine together and form FORUMTRON the ultimate mixture of man and machine to combat the people who are not on the forums.

OP there is a prestigious race group somewhere in the groups and meet ups sections. I forgot their name but from what I've read they create the kind of race you're looking for.

 

Also, you have to try out to join them.

Red Rum are not always crew only (but yes usually invite only to stop randoms messing up our races)

 

we often run with guys from DDZN and from Apex Stalkers (which i think is who Xaviaer alluded to earlier in the thread and i can contest are a clean bunch of guys who take their racing very seriously) as we have a few cross over members and all have a similar perspective when it comes to racing, race clean, race hard, and race fast.... i think between the three crews we've got a fair chunk of regular racers that get together and race (and a fair amount of the fastest races in the world ,,, see the Im better than you thread in my sig.).... personally i like it when we battle Apex over a playlist, always clean and challenging

 

Op jsut need sto find a better bunch of people to race with, racing randoms is a risk, and if your prepared for the onslaught of sh*t drivers and sh*tter conduct then it can pass the time... but if you want a more serious racing style, get yourself in with one of the racing crews from the GTAF who specialise in racing... most of us dont mind you being in multiple crews so when you fancy a night of racing, just switch your active and invite crew members only....

I do wish there was the option of going to a session where guns don't work, it would encourage more innovative ways of attacking other players, and players would more likely end up in groups doing silly sh*t together and driving around in packs - we need our own biker gangs!

 

It does get tedious some days when you go into freeroam and it's like you stepped into a non-stop deathmatch.
