I personally hate tanks. They tend to ruin the online experience. You always have that one scum bag in a lobby who is running around and destroying everyone's personal vehicles and forcing that player to pay their insurance.

 

I honestly wouldn't care if they removed the tank from online, or at least toned it down in some way.

 

Now before a lot of you go "a tank is a tank, it's supposed to be overpowered." When a tank is running around and griefing everyone in a lobby, then we have some serious issues. I shouldn't have to go to Fort Zancudo just to grab a fighter jet in order to destroy a tank.

 

A good suggestion would be to buff up the damage of the RPG against tanks. Make it 3 or 4 shots to destroy a tank. That's the main purpose of an RPG anyway, to be an anti-tank weapon.

 

I predict a lot of flaming, but remember that this is just my opinion.

 

Edit: For everyone who is saying a new tank thread is created every day. I wouldn't know this as I just found this forum today and decided to join. I know there is a search bar, but those thread are likely dead and don't exactly need a revive when I could just make a new thread that is more constructive and has better chances of getting mature responses/suggestions regarding tanks.

 

Do I have a tank? Of course. Do I use it to kill other players? Only when they start firing RPGs when i'm in the tank or another tank is around.

Not exactly bitching. I'm expressing more of an opinion then anything. Plus, i'm curious about other peoples opinions on this matter.

RPGs are made to be anti-tank weapons, correct? A tank shouldn't be able to tank 10 RPGs to blow up, should be around 3-5. Would make a more fair fight.

 

As for a official thread regarding tanks. I do think one should be created, let other express their opinions on this matter. I am trying to be constructive and make a fair conversation. If you do not agree with me, then that is your own personal opinion. Try to be respectful about it.

simple solution: javelin DLC

That could have it's own problems. Javelins are extremely powerful lock on weapons that have a large explosive radius. Locking on to a target could be difficult since there would likely be other vehicles around that area. It's a good idea, but could use some tweaking.

Tanks would be perfectly fine the way they are if they were much more expensive to use. The way it is now, it's pretty ridiculous that taking down a tank can cost a player a couple thousand dollars or more in ammo, not to mention the potential tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars in PV damage they can cause while people try to take them down, while the cost to the tank driver is only $200.

 

Let the tanks be OP, just make the owners pay a proper price for the privilege of causing mass destruction and being semi-unstoppable for a time.

 

Or

 

Offer a new heavy "tank buster" weapon. Ineffective against players (to avoid abuse) but deals massive damage to tanks.

I only ever blow up someones PV if they are out to blow up my tank (I mainly go on cop and civilian rampages) and this was the situation the other day so I blew up his car but I got bad sport and had to pay insurance so I guess thats back in now.

True. But aircraft would be a bit of a tricky one. A Javelin is a fire and forget rocket launcher that usually follows the hottest heat signature it finds. Those rockets will stay on target until they run out of fuel, or until they hit their target. I am not entirely sure how fast a javelin rocket goes. Probably faster then a helicopter. Maybe even a jet.

I am keeping this constructive, but I will go slightly off topic with this. If you're going to be butt hurt about it, then why even reply at all?
