I get em routinely after missions and they always have 6-9k. Last night I came across one that had no $$$ but I think it was because I accidentally blew up the whole truck.

 

Lately I'll follow it for a second, place a sticky in the center of the door, wait for a wide open area, initiate c4 detonation, ride up to where the money spawns, and call Lester. Takes about 4 min and like I said, always 6-9k. Could have something to do with me mostly playing in invite only sessions but idk.

You have to make sure that the truck isn't stopped, if he is, it's not gonna give any money...

I ALWAYS block the truck in and get the money while its stopped

Whenever I actually manage to get to one before it despawns just ahead of me, it gives me no money. Blew the doors off the same one twice yesterday, second time it said "cash has dropped", neither time did I get anything.

 

I think I've had cash about 1 time out of 20. I assumed they're just R* trolling us, in game and in the patch notes.

I had an odd one the other night with an Armored Truck...

 

Pulled up behind it at a red light, tossed a sticky from behind the wheel, which landed close to bang on centre of the doors... all good thus far.

 

I pull out and overtake the truck, and once I am a good few yards clear of the blast zone, I detonate, satisfying explosion heard from behind me... still all good...

 

I hop out of my car, spin and around and take a few steps before stopping in my tracks... There's a massive scorch mark on the ground, and 2 flaming wrecked cars either side of where the truck was.... WAS.

 

There's no truck there, no money, no wreckage... just a scorched bit of tarmac and three * wanted level, cop sirens closing in rapidly!

 

This happened to anyone else?

After Rooftop Rumble, an armoured truck spawns, blew the doors, 3 star wanted level & a guard jumps out & no money drops :/

Everytime they would go refil on stickies.That would allow trucks to get a few blocks away from them.. Those trucks would never drop cash.

 

 

No doubt players are chasing trucks meant for other players and hitting them at a good distance away from that player.

 

Best thing to do is BLOW it up.. Forcing a new spawn, or just leave it. If you follow it, it will stay on the map, even tho its empty.

Uh, not true, 80% of the time when I hit them they're stopped, and they always pay. If I'm reading OP's dilemma correctly, you blew it up? Not supposed to blow it up dude, sticky or shoot just the back doors, center of the doors between the handles. If it drops no money, someone in the lobby already got it and it didn't de-spawn on your map.

This must be in Free Roam, in Invite Only this isnt the case. I always play with a friend, in Invite Only and we see them all the time again. We randomly take turns, no set amount of trucks really, just whoever gets to it first. Sometimes he'll stop it for me if he's gotten a few consecutively, or vice versa. Never had one that didn't drop money, only ones that don't drop from one's map after the other one hit it. If a truck shows on my map (always a fast mover because it's been attacked) and not on his, I'll duck into LSC or my garage. When I come back out, it'll respawn again. Other than that, there's always money in them.

Well, if you guys are sticking pretty close to each other then it will always drop cash. Pretty much a few block radius.

 

Next time try splitting up. One will spawn closer to a player. Have that player drive away as fast as possible while the other goes for it. That truck will not drop anything when sprung.

We have, he had one spawn in the city while I was near Zancudo taking out the Simeon HPV, he'd hit 6 in a row before that car popped up. He went to LSC to buy mods for his car, I chased down the truck, made 16k. I know they spawn near a specific player, but they've never NOT paid out in my experience, whether it spawns near him or me. I've come upon trucks he's already hit that showed on my mini-map, but the icon will disappear as soon as I get close.

 

Keep an eye on your mini map, there is some sort of glitch going on with these right now. If you pull up on a truck that you saw on your map, look at your map again as soon as you have the truck in view. If the icon vanishes, you'll know the truck is empty and someone has already hit it, I'm willing to bet that's what you guys are experiencing.

 

EDIT: I'm thinking that bug is the reason you guys are seeing this now, since there's only 2 of us in the lobby, one already hit it and the second has to either see it or go in the garage for it to clear. It stands to reason that a lobby full of players would need to do the same when the glitch occurs. Is the truck hauling ass when you hit it and it's empty?

Armoured trucks are a waste of time - just rooftop rumble once and you'll generally get more money and RP

 

Just got $150K from armored trucks in about 30 minutes.

Original spawned next to the police impound, from there it was cake. Stop car in front of truck, shotgun driver, run to back, shotgun doors, get money, grab car, head to parking structure next to impound, by the time I hit second floor another truck spawned on street below, by the time I was at top floor, wanted stars had dropped, jumped off the roof using ramp, landing next to another truck. Repeat 15+ times. Then got bored.

I've had the empty armored trucks before. It means someone else already hit the truck(yes the doors close again). It will still say you attacked an armored truck. The icon will still be on the screen so you think its a new one but its not.

Something I've done a couple of times is stick a sticky on the back of a truck and wait for a blip to approach it before detonating.

Exactly what my Crew and I do. We stay far enough both ahead and behind it, when one pops, the other person then assumes the role of chaser, and we keep rotating until one of us has to leave. It seems, as per your theory, that they only Rapid Spawn when my one buddy is on line. I have a feeling this is a side effect from some patch they did around 1.09, and isn't easily found or fixed in the coding. It feels like one of those cause and effect situations.

During a session earlier today there was an epidemic of armored trucks, and none of them had any money!

 

Literally, one player blew one up and then suddenly another one appeared on the map, this happened about 8-10 times in a row.

Sounds like AT's in free roam are bugged, another reason I stick to invite only. When they start spawning, it's always a good payday, never had an empty one yet.

What I did notice last night (had two seperate lobbies with armored truck respawns) was that the armored trucks STOPPED spawning when another 'live' event was happening. At one point in the run of trucks (after about 6) a Simeon vehicle popped up and the armored trucks stopped. So, I went and delivered the green Simeon car....a few minutes later the armored trucks started spawning again.
