Now I've got the whole level-upping thing out of the way and unlocked all the weapons etc., I'm having a lot of fun just joining random missions with random players.

It's truly spectacular how badly you and other players can screw up even the simplest mission, very funny moments like the one I just witnessed where someone tried to throw a sticky bomb at a cement truck, the bomb stuck to the ceiling above them so they moved forward and thew another which landed on the truck, only they didn't see where the first one went so when they triggered it...instant suicide :D

At level 100 I stopped to level up (goal was to unlock 100% car armor and obtain the RPG, not interested in Minigun).

After that I start to do things I never done before online, WALKING and sometimes using the BMX to surround the entire island BY COAST. Never expected to find so many beautiful and interesting hidden locations.

If you need a rest to the daily shootouts in the city, try this relaxing Island tour and get ... Lost :)

Is this a generational thing? I don't know the OP's age, but this kind of post seems to be quite common, and it's something me as an older (33) gamer can't quite grasp...

It's all about leveling to some folk, grinding, targets and accumulation of stuff... Reaching top level and buying all the gear = Finished?

Thankfully there are some posts here that I DO understand, because I feel the same about this game and gaming in general... for FUN and ENTERTAINMENT! Doing missions with friends, racing exploring... Those things entertain me and I enjoy myself... my level or amount of stuff I own doesn't matter.

I am the exact same age and I feel exactly the same. I'm not 120 yet, I don't grind for RP other than setting AFK races while I get ready for work (payout increases have made it more useful). So, yes, thats TECHNICALLY grinding, but I'm not sitting there doing the same thing over and over, my elastic is, so it doesn't carry that feeling to it.

I will continue to play after 120 as I am 111 now and have plenty of stuff to do. I'm not nearly rich with about 700K in the bank, but I have a lot of what I want. I save because I know there will be more stuff I want down the road, so why not set myself up to get it as early as I can? So, I do missions. Not just RR and Coveted, but anything that comes up really. I'll play those if my friends are on and want to help a guy who just got the game get cash, but other than that, I'm not seeking out RR like I was pre-100.

I actually joined a mission using the random feature yesterday, and for the first time in weeks, It wasn't r.r. imagine my surprise.

I played a coveted playlist for almost 90 minutes and had a blast every second of it.

Honestly, I wanted to step back from missions and stuff for a bit, so I grabbed my BF and headed to sandy shores and that area. You hear some of the funniest sh*t driving and walking around up there with no music on. Stuff like that, and seeing buildings and stuff you didn't look at prior keep it fun for me.

The posters who was talking about stepping back to smell the roses hit it head on.

See, the problem with the "explore the enviroment" mentality (which I agree with), is that its boring in a solo session, impossible due to 13 year old mentalities in pub sessions, and I dunno about you guys, but the friends I play with are usually not of a similar mindset.

Its one of the fundamental flaws of GTAO. The common player treats freeroam like a deathmatch, to the point where I'm amazed when I log into a pub and I just watch the scroll of Hans killed Lotte; Lotte killed Jane; Willi set a bounty on Jane; Suki killed Leo; and Leo sent Muggers after Britt.

Its infuriating to try and exist outside of that sh*t, because at some point someone'll come after you, even if you're just cruising through the hoods enjoying the scene.

Crew only session. It's fun when 4-5 people can get going and do some silly stuff and generally just enjoy the game.

We only have one rule when doing this. It's ok to kill, but it can't be with bullets. Nothing more funny for a crew than an elaborate or unexpected death.

Alas, nearly every member of my small crew is still driven by the need to Do Something! when playing this game.

I've reached a mentality where my player is a multimillionaire and currently at the top of the scene in this game, and I no longer care. I do missions for fun, except they're all not very fun missions; and I race for kicks, except they're not very fun races.

That said, I don't wanna make this a plug, but anyone else who's not got a child's mentality when playing this game and has the same desire to live a GTA life of luxury and leisure, PM me for a PS3 crew name. I'm happy to find more players and less idiots.

Join a good crew and you'll never run out of things to do.

I hope they add some extra things to unlock after level 120. Seems odd to have 1000 as the max level but have 880 levels where you unlock nothing at all.

Ive been kind of thinking this as well since my second character is at 112 and first at 64 i think. Question for you OP id have you completed every rockstar mission, race, deathmatch, capture, unlocked everything, achieved every platinum medal, driven every vehicle, and maxed out all your stats? If no then theres always something to work towards or to beat which keeps me motivated to keep playing but i do agree about two characters getting 120+ its pretty much the same and it would be cool if males & female avatars had different unlockables, jobs, or features that made them different so it makes the replay value of having two online char more fun rather than the same stuff.

I just got to 120 a few days back too, i have about 2,3 million and I feel the only reason to still progress in this game, is to buy new cars to do up and to then put em in my small ass garage to switch out another car I really loved before.

Mehhhh

Soran Is On

that's why you don't farm, grind or cheat. Play and enjoy and game, if you don't like playing anymore, stop. If you don't like or care for anything you earned at level 120 what was the point at all?

Man, that stinks. Honestly, get a friend to buy the game and start from scratch...the best things happen then.

We let a new guy fly the titan in A Titan of a job. After crashing because he was trying to turn onto the runway with the stick and not the bumpers, it only took 4 paasses for him to finally land in sandy shores.

Goof off join random jobs. Play with friends. Being level 169 with 1.5 million I usually join random lobby's and play whatever comes up. I have lots of fun not grinding and playing for fun not caring if I win or lose

I have my main at 160 as of last night. I lost the cops and received enough RP to roll over from 159. Trying to keep him below 200 I think. I've started another character, he's 40 or 41 I think. No super cars, no extra clothes, no frills.. He finally got the cheapest 2 car garage last night because I wanted something other than the sultan to drive but that's it. He's my money maker for right now, anytime I grind out some RR or any other missions I'll use him.

My main is for messing around on. He has all the clothes, best cars, nice apt (best one if you ask me) all Pegasus vehicles and all stats maxed except for holding breath, which is close. Anytime I want to freeroam war or just mess around with friends I hop on him.

I'd go straight into a survival and tear up those trolling choppers with my new minigun that I didn't have to wait to pick up, but honestly I could think of a few things to keep you going post-120.

I grind quite a bit when I'm solo but mainly just have fun when I'm on with friends(we actually like missions). I have a 135 and a 32. The second garage is nice and it's fun to rank up again.

I am coming to the realization this week even, that being a 141-142-whatever it is now...there IS ZERO INCENTIVE for me to continue to rank up.

No Unlocked Phone Missions, Weapons, Special Vehicles...zero incentive for me to keep worrying about RP. However, I race with friends, and that's fun enough I guess. I care less about DM, Capture, and LTS. I hate to ask for something besides t-shirts, masks, and cars in the same class. BUT I AM. Give us more missions. HELL, ALLOW THOSE OF US WHO ARE OVER 120 TO OWN ANOTHER PROPERTY.

If you couldnt be bothered to play the game normally to level up then leveling up itself was pointless because then all your left with is playing the game.

I am level 300+ and my second character is over 100. I play every night and I am never bored. If I disliked the game so much that grinding one boring race or one high paying mission seemed like a good tactic...I would have left a long time ago.

Level 230 something. Don't care about ranking up anymore, but I obviously still do a lot. I'll do missions with randoms, love to race, hunt and survive bounties and will even snag the green simeon car just to harass whoever tries to stop me.

Thanks for all your replies... I decided to dechrome all my rides... yes I had a chrentity, chrester, churismo, Z chrype, chrouble T, chraemon, chrifta, chrailgater, chroosevelt and chrandking. Hopefully now less racers will purposely take me out. Maybe they're safe to take out to gen population freeroam now...
