Who has the Digital version? PS3

Does this thread mean you haven't even played the game yet?
If so, it makes your idiotic trollling thread even worse.

To answer the question, I don't know as I never buy digital games as I don't feel comfortable with them, but I imagine it would run either slightly better or the same as the physical version.

If you have a stock Hard Drive then sadly there is a chance the pop in problem might occur depending on your PS3 model, but if you've upgraded your hard drive, especially a 7200rpm Drive, and you wont have a problem.

I have a stock hard drive.

My blu ray player broke so I can't play discs anymore. I don't know if I should buy it.

You should be able to get that repaired for a decent price.

$85 for a new replacement blu ray player, or $60 for the game. It's a tricky decision.

I've read some PS3 users complaining about it.

Yeah, all the articles that say how it doesn't run as good on the digital version are from Sep 20 and I'm trying to find something more recent.

I would think R* would release a patch..

But wouldn't you need a new blu ray player anyway, for other games and movies?

It's not exactly something that can be patched, Rockstar built this game to read from TWO sources, Hard Drive AND Disc streaming. a 5400rpm Drive just isn't fast enough to provide both accounts of data, that's why the problem existed on the Xbox 360 to when you installed both discs on the same drive. The only proper way of fixing it is by using a faster Hard Drive, which most gamers should do anyway, 7200rpm works great and for a good handful of games reduces loading times and pop in, heavy streaming stuff benefits to, hell, if I had money to waste, I'd get a SSHD or a full SSD, GTAV has like instant Character Switching with those.
