Where are the suburbs?

So yeah, we all know about Los Santos, right? How big the city itself is and stuff? That's groovy. But still, that raises the question as to where the rest of the city is, I.E. Suburbs. Seeing as Los Angeles was created mostly due to suburban sprawl, why don't we see that in Los Santos? Only suburbs I can think of are Mirror Park, , Rockford Hills, that neighborhood where Lester lives, and the teeny weeny bit of South Los Santos. I mean lordy lord Rockstar, where were you going to fit all your people without 'burbs like these?

HOW'S ANNIE?

Mirror Park was the cloest thing we were getting to true LA suburbs unfortunatley. They could have at least thrown in the San Fernando valley region in too, but oh well.

That said though, is it really that fun to drive and rampage through massive suburban sprawls?

I think R* overkilled. When I think the fans asked for more countryside(or at least just me)

They most likely didn't want the countryside taking up most of the map.

I would've loved to have a proper "suburban" GTA game, what with me growing up in a suburb of DC. At least with it, mods are possible (I can send you a pic if you'd like)

But yeah, to my understanding, Mirror Park suburbs are pretty accurate as far as the architecture goes to the surrounding 'burbs of Los Angeles. I mean damn. Sure you have your fast food joints in town, but no sprawling suburbs, no strip malls or walmart parking lots to do burnouts in? Hell, I'd much rather see a bigger suburb instead of those bigass Palomino Highlands. Sure, they're pretty, but why switch out realism for fun? Nothing's fun about random hills with nothing on them. There's stuff fun about suburbs too!

Except the country side doesn't take up most of the map.. empty mountains with no purpose do. :p

I think the whole desert and mount josiah were totally unecessary. The hard drive space dedicated to accommodating the desert and the big turd( mt josiah) could have been used to support proper residential areas in various los santos regions.

I wish this too. I wish that in the future we can get a GTA with proper suburban sprawl. And with next gen power hopefully it can happen. You cant capture the essence of an American city without low density suburban sprawl so I think its the next logical step for rock star and the next gen makes it more possible.

I'm hoping we see a scale jump on next gen like we got going to the HD era from the 3D era. But I doubt it because it would mean a massive overhaul of the engine to handle heavy multithreading. Something every single video game developer out there does not enjoy doing.

If anything, something like V with a bigger map would be great. V seemed to buff out the problems that IV's engine suffered from.

I would not be satisfied with another V scaled map. You can be in the suburbs in one block and then downtown in the next. That's a scaling issue and it's one I hope they can continue to increase until for example suburbs look like the pic in op.

Gnocchi Flip Flops

Mirror park, obviously

That's not a full suburb though. There are no true suburbs in Los Santos. But I'm going to blow Dan and say, "Who needs 'em, ya got what chu wanted[countryside]."

I never said the next GTA game would have V-sized map. I'm saying that with V's engine being pretty much "smoother" than the previous engine, they could put more time into making the map itself bigger and, hopefully, bigger and more realistic suburbs.

Same thing with the demand of more Underwater stuff from SA.
