universetwisters
So evidently this came up when I tried to replace my few already-existing GIFs in my "about me" section with one big gif. What could the problem be and what could the solution be?
Mr. House
There's already a topic about this, man http://gtaforums.com/topic/692775-error-when-editing-profile/ There's a suggestion abut removing the http:// part from the image, try that. Kiffster
^ No, not from the image (I thought that at first too). You should delete/clear the http:// bit from the "Website URL" field under Contact Methods in your profile BEFORE editing your About Me page and saving your changes. universetwisters
I tried both of them, but they didn't seem to work. I can't even edit my member title now, the same error keeps coming up.
Solution Kiffster Posted March 14, 2014 Solution Share Posted March 14, 2014 (edited) Well the fact that it says ("Website URL") at the end of that error message means that THAT is where the problem lies. Note that this is NOT the actual URL of the page you're viewing and it has nothing to do with the image you're trying to post. It's that part where you enter your own personal website url which will then appear in your profile or wherever... What you need to do is, when you edit your profile, scroll down and under "Contact Methods" (where you enter Skype, Yahoo or whatever) there is a "Website URL" field. There should be "http://" there by default (and I know it's there because this http:// appears at the bottom of your profile). You just have to delete/clear this http://, then click Save Changes. Maybe even reload the page to make sure the http:// is now gone. Then try to edit your profile again. If this doesn't help/work then I have no idea what the problem is. I also couldn't edit my profile at all because of that error, but after I did the above, everything works fine now. Now I like my new member title and the comic in the "about me" thing!
