As the title suggest, what is the best off-road vehicle (excluding Sanchez) based mostly on performance and toughness. I'm guessing it's the sand king xl, but just wanna know if there is better

Rebel. I prefer the clean one. You can buy the rusty one for 3000.

CLEAN REBEL! Because its has great traction, and is a lot less awkward to drive off road than the Mesa.

btw.

clean rebel = performance

rusty rebel = customization

Sandking only truck that can climb and forge rivers

Strictly Offroad Class, and Sanchez not included the Bifta is a clear winner for speed and acceleration.

Outside of Offroad class, stick offroad tyres on an Elegy/Feltzer and see what happens ;)

It depends on what off roading you are doing that determines what the best vehicle is.

All the rockstar off road races i've played are just dirt paths without any big obstacles, so fast ones like the bifta, dune buggy, injection are the best to use.

(but they are 2WD and have little ground clearance so not good in tougher situations)

For somewhere with loads of obstacles or water, the sandkings are the best to use (e.g lago zancudo swamps, going along rivers etc.)

There are also some places like the mount gordo or mount chilliad trails where medium size vehicles like the Baller (1), Dubsta, Mesa, Beejay etc are best, since there are some obstacles, but not huge one, and tight turns which the sandkings are too big to make cleanly.

The rebel has great handling for a 4x4 with good clearance and great speed.

The sandking has the best clearance, but is slower than the rebel and struggles more up steep slopes.

if you want the best for climbing slopes try out he canis kalahari, that has the best power to weight ratio and its just incredible at near vertical slopes, its free too.

1. Sandking XL (I find the longer wheelbase allows the front tires to grab on top of the rocks and help pull the rears up)

2. MW Mesa

3. Rebel (clean or dirty)

From my experience anyways.

For hardcore off-roading use a sandking, for better simulated offroad use the Mesa or the Rebel. For unrealistic crazy off-roading put offroad tires on an entity.

imo theres a few good choices.

for clearance you need the sandking.

for steep slopes and to be unique the kalahari is excellent, not many around.

for a balance between speed and clearance and excellent handling you need the rebel, i believe the clean version is faster but not 100% on that.

all of those are great 4x4 vehicles.

other vehicles like the bf injection, bifta, dune buggy etc are fast but RWD, and are best suited for dirt tracks and driving across the desert or flat cross country.

for racing obviously the sanchez.

Honestly, I'd go with Trevors Truck. Fully modded. It doesn't sway when you turn, no real worries about tipping, it has a good stiff suspension.

I do like the Bifta, I usually add Sports tires and use it for Street.

Merrywheather Mesa and Trevs Blazer are my fav offroad cars as they make the most fun in my opinion.

I tried an Adder with offroad tires, worked pretty fine, until I got stuck in water.

Trevor's Bodhi for me, although if I had more garage space the Bifta for sure. It's a great off road vehicle and the perfect mission car. A death trap in Free Roam though

If your crossing rivers or playing along the shoreline anywhere then go for the vehicle with the highest ground clearance otherwise the Sultan Rs as mentioned above, is the best off road vehicle. Its faster than all of the off road vehicles and will keep going on slopes that will stall all of the so called off roaders. You can climb straight up Chilliad from Peleto Bay to the cable car station. I've never managed it in anything other than a Sultan.

Depends on your perception of the word best doesn't it. Some of the english language has changed its meaning in the USA. If to you, best means -Worse than a sultan Rs- then your 100% correct. If not then sorry your 100% wrong. A push along lawn mower would beat a Rebel in a race :)

You can upgrade performance but there is no visual mods. They do spawn with bullbars and rollbars in free roam but you have to be willing to look. No trophy truck bodies or anything though.

IMO, a good off road vehicle has to have off road mods. The dubsta has become my all time favorite because of the "aftermarket support" it has for parts and accessories. Roll cage, snorkel, winch, dual spare tires, etc. It's badass and 4wd so it goes literally everywhere.

It also looks like a 84-01 Jeep Cherokee, which I drive in real life (lifted, snorkel, winch, lockers, etc).
