Has anyone started a TDM on your own?

last night i joined a random session and the map was a user created (not verified) "Paintball" match.

Right away on the betting screen, it was 4 v 1 and i was on the short end. long story short, i somehow managed to win bc the map had a lot of choke points.

i stood my ground and won 25 to 13.

i have never seen a match start this bad and was curious if anyone else has. or can this be set up when you make a match? ive never used content creator before...

Yeah it's happened pretty much every time I join a TDM which is usually an accident cause I hate DM games in the GTA series. Pretty f*cking lame honestly but it does make it easy to win since you have more targets to shoot at and they can't kill anyone while you're respawning.

I managed to win on account that not only was I higher level then both the other guys combined, but it was free-aim, which I play frequently...whereas I'm guessing my opponents didn't...cuz they couldn't hit the broad side of a barn even in close range.

it would have been different if they left as the match started or during the match, but this started with only 5 players in the lobby...

Yeah I get it allot.

I have a awful habit where I can't just quit and have to stand my ground on principle.

I fking hate stacking.

 

But it is very satisfying when you're outnumbered and you own 'em.

 

Whenever I host a TDM, I always set team balancing to auto and wait until there's even numbers to start.

I hate being stacked against and feel cheap if I'm stacked against another.

Yeah, I am not sure if it is due to matchmaking errors that people just up and leave the lobby after the game starts, but it seems kind of ridiculous to just leave. You gain nothing, and lose your own time. On the other hand, I get stuck fighting three or so people. I mop them up, but it is still irritating that it happens.

I've run into missions before where everyone on my team switched to the other team before the start making it 6 vs 1. It was a mission where you start at the airport and have to deliver something to Madrazo via a limo. I was the attacker so I had to destroy the limo but I was on my own.

 

Since I knew where they were headed I just cut them off and waited for them, put a sticky on the road by the entrance and hid. Blew up the sticky as the limo passed and the mission was successful. I got kicked from the match after that.

Hosts do it on purpose by not settings "even teams" setting. If they don't then 11 people could join Team B and it'd be 1v11.

 

I prefer being on the handicapped team because as others say... it's about kill count and you have a lot more to kill.

 

This is the only reason I don't spam join TDMs... because it's stupid as hell....

 

FFS R*... drop a noob who randomly joined DM into our game if it's uneven...I can see people getting pissed at that though too.. nothing like being dropped into a game at the last 20 seconds to loose.

I've played the same thing, possibly the exact same match. I don't mind it I see being handicapped as an advantage.

I've won a game of capture solo before. Funnily enough the other team of 3 was comprised of a crew with mics, which made the victory even more satisfying. It was the one where you steal tractors (Farmvillan?).

I love it when I'm in a team deathmatch and everyone leaves my team so it's me against several players.

 

A while ago, I was playing a team deathmatch on this map on a bridge with nothing but shotguns and some Cheetahs. At first it was me and 2 others vs 3 guys on the other team. One guy on my team kept killing me and my other teammate. After a few minutes they both left and I was left by myself against the 3 other guys. Thankfully those 3 guys really sucked and I managed to win very easily. I killed them just under twice as much as they killed me, I believe the final score was about 38-20, that includes my teammates who they killed a few times. They kept trying to run me over with their cars, and I kept killing them easily with my assault shotgun. At one point, I took cover at one end of the map behind the wall that separates the 2 lanes of the bridge, where the wall ends. This is a great spot of you're ever playing that map. They have no cover and all they can do is rush towards you. You can see them coming from far away. I killed them like 10 times while in that spot. Eventually one of them spawned behind me and killed me and I didn't return to that spot after that.

Not sure the host is "doing it on purpose" by not using the even teams option. It's better to have that on so that when Rockstar decides that the game should be played 1v4, then people can change accordingly. Some people just suck balls and will change teams at the last minute to try to be at an advantage (because they're douche bags).

 

For some reason, that team balancing option is not available on my created death match, so if Rockstar puts too many people on one team, it can't be changed. Any idea why it's like that?

That's what drives me crazy! Why cant people join matches in progress? Every other rockstar game would add players to the match, and this would also help their lousy lobby filling system too. If you got the minimum of players to start the match the room would eventually fill so no need to wait around for the game to fill the lobby. Sheesh what a bad oversight by r*

Instead of looking at your ugly as hell character, look at the other teams ugly as hell characters. I think it's the "Start" button gets replaced by "Swap Team".

Changing teams is an option that has to be turned on by the host.

Only time I use it is to balance, had it one time where I kept moving to balance and this guy was like my shadow and kept moving too lol

Ah I see. Hopefully this knowledge will become more wide spread so I can pretend to be Rambo on more team deathmatches.

i cant lie, it was actually pretty intense. i for sure wasnt going to quit and i loved going against them.

havent had that much fun on GTAO in a while.

sh*t, i never even noticed the even teams option bc i never host. i usually just join random.

guess if i would have seen that, i wouldnt have had to start this topic.

Does having a 3v2 LTS count? My teammate was a low level and the opposite team was full of 40-50+. My teammate unfortunately got caught by all 3, used Lester to hide myself and took out the first two with a sniper and finished the last one with an smg as he came up close.

That could have possibly counted, if you hadn't used Lester's off the radar.
