Rockstar censors In-game text messages.

And no, I don't mean the censor as the forum does, but it will simply fail to send the message.

 

For example.

 

Today I received a notification

 

 

 

Clothing Unlock

Rockstar T-shirt

 

I send this to a friend via the in-game text message system:

 

 

Somehow I got a Rockstar shirt

 

It failed to send, and it asked me to try again.

I failed to see any reason why, and tried again. Same thing.

 

Then I changed "Rockstar" into "R0ckstar", same thing.

 

Then I changed "R0ckstar" into "R0ck$t@r" and it was sent successfully.

 

 

So I wasn't allowed to send a message containing Rockstar. Meaning that they censor in-game messages.

 

 

I'm sure they censored more words, but this one was the most obvious to me.

 

 

 

Have you experienced some words that they censored, because then we could make a list of words to avoid in a text in-game so it will send successfully without having to retype everything.

Curse words get filtered. I know this because I tried to give some level7 a fully kitted Fruffalo last night as a welcoming gift, and instead he tried to shoot me with his pistol.

 

So, I murdered him, drove home to my gayrage and pointed out via text messages why he was stupid with ample 4 letter words.

 

It took several tries to get it to send.

Just put periods between the word to bypass censor. For example, fu.ck or sh.it should work.

The reason they censor messages is because they are direct interaction between human users. The game can curse at you as much as it wants to because it's a game. It's not real. An NPC calls you a motherf*cker, it's just the game acting as it should. If another player does the same, it's abusive behavior because the player is not acting as he/she should, that being like a civilized human being.

 

Hence, censors and filters.

Game is rated 17+ yet people 17 to 18 can't use snapmatic. I just censor mine enough. I like putting remote bombs in my car and when I see my car icon move I send a text saying that they are dead. Then kaboom

Same as they do on the Social Club. Off the top of my head, I know that congratulations and sex are both censored on the SC, so when you use either of the two words, you have to space them so they don't get detected. Thr33X gave a nice explanation behind the reason, As opposed to NPC's being able to curse at you and have no limits, text messages are interactions between real human's and who knows what could be said between the two? Catch someone on a bad day and blow their car up, I'm sure you would get a nice hate message that's a little overreacting.
