why are the airport gates locked?

Remember in GTA4 when you could just drive straight into the airport without any gates, and then get 4 stars. LoL. Now it's the opposite.

Get four stars and use the airport to escape?

 

Couldn't lose your stars in an annihilator.

As others have said, the ramp by Devin's hangar can be used to jump the fence on foot, and if that fails and you don't feel like jacking a car or don't have one, go around the back of the hangar, shoot the big oil container to blow up the fence and get in that way. You don't even get a Wanted level if I remember correctly.

Two of the dumbest post i've seen all week and it's only Wednesday...

 

 

That's why I usually skydive rather than use it

 

The gates are locked to intimidate dumb people who don't know how to use the Vespucci canals helipad to get a helicopter and fly in.

Exactly, I don't see the big problem. You don't even need a car to get over, I've jumped off the ramp and over the fence many times.

 

Plus there are 3-4 other ways to get in to the airport.

Here's why:

 

As we all know, Rockstar hates fun, they despise people thinking playing this game is supposed to be fun. One of the few reasons an airport exists in this game is to have drag races, this is fun and therefore Rockstar wants to limit it as much as possible.

You're using the wrong gate OP, There's 3 lower entrances, The left ( the ramp entrance ), The middle entrance, and the one to the right of that. The last 2 I mentioned should open without a hitch. Thel middle one will bring you closer to the helipad if that's what your looking for.

Airport gates are locked as the government has to pay the gate guard 50 cents for every time he opens the gate.

 

Think of how much money is saved every hour by not opening that gate.

You're one of those noobs (yes, the word fits nicely in this instance) that uses the ramp.

 

When you're facing the ramp, turn right and go down the road, when you reach the building, turn left... you can drive through the fence.... it's also A LOT faster spot to enter

is it really that hard to jump the ramp, or use the well known breachable fences to get in??

Doesn't have to be a waste. I don't know about you, but I occasionally like to fly some of my Pegasus owned planes. :p
