Problem hosting races

Every time I try to host a race I get very few if any people invited.

It usually invites the people I just raced with, they disappear only get re invited again.

I will also see someone who is "blocked" (why they are blocked i don't know, I didn't do it.) get booted only to get re invited without inviting any new people.

When I join other peoples races they don't seem to have any trouble filling the lobby.

Is there a trick to being able to get the invite numbers up?

Try joining a full session and then invite people from there?
