What is wrong with people hosting races?!

Being able to join an epic race with the maximum number of people in it is rare on GTA right now (for me at least anyway) and I hate it when I finally join one, only to have the host kick everyone from it. If you want to play just with your friends make an invite only race, simple. But don't ruin it for everyone else. Is anyone else finding this, or am I the only one having trouble joining a decent race?

Setting matchmaking to closed doesn't stop random people from joining. It always happens to me so I need to kick them.

Circuito urbano (Or something very similar) is a great race...its not verified and I forgot to bookmark it...just thought I would mention it...

I don't understand the people that don't actively try to get people to join the races or deathmatches. They just sit there and wait for people to join from Quick Jobs or Online menu.

Invite from last job, invite all from current session, invite all friends playing, invite all skill matched players.....just invite anyone you can. Then turn on auto-invite. Then, whenever someone joins, it'll invite all their friends.

 

I can't stand a host sitting there, not inviting anybody, just f*cking waiting for another 4 people to start a deathmatch.

 

Hell, I actively go in and cancel invites from people that are stuck so that the Auto Invite will send out more invites.

Most people host garbage races or dont know how to set up a proper race.

 

catchup should be set to off by default becaue most noobs do not even realise how scrubby it is to turn it off.

Its hard to take racing in this game seriously and I think once you accept that, you'll enjoy it more. Even with the absurd handicaps the fact that we have no speedometer or tachometer just drops a big deuce on the face of anyone with even a negligible knowledge of auto racing.

If you want realistic racing grab a game that is built around it and not one that contains an arcade like minigame with complexity of atari's pole position.

This is the exact race that I loved doing, and finally got into with the full amount of players before being kicked.

I don't wait in the lobbies that long I wait a max of 10 minutes in a lobby spamming invites the entire time and if I'm lucky 2 or 3 people will join, but they usually leave if I don't start it within 30 seconds of them joining. The only way to remedy the low amount of players for me is abandoning that lobby, joining a new session and making a new lobby to get a new pool of players and keep doing that until a flood of people join. Now with all of that loading and waiting between my lobby hosting easily makes that about an hour or two until I hit the jackpot and a ton of people join in.

 

Although I have waited in a lobby for as long as an hour trying to host a race and not a single soul joined, but then I changed sessions and tried again and a bunch of people joined, lol R* matchmaking

It does them in a random order. If you do it yourself first, you can invite say, everyone from the last job first, then all your friends, etc. (or whatever order you want them to be invited)....because the lobby will only invite a certain amount of people at a time. It will invite more once they reply as 'busy' or 'decline'. They'll time out after a very, very long time.

They should introduce the option to join completely standard races and deathmatches, with the only option for the host (in races) being catch up on/off. Only Rockstar created races, only classes of cars that Rockstar chooses so it's not always Supers, fixed amount of laps, etc.

 

I rarely do races and deathmatches anymore because the matchmaking is just horrible. It wasn't very good at first, but "quick jobs" has been completely and utterly ruined by the content creator.

I don't know what everyone else posted, but yes Closed does prevent randoms from showing up unless you have Auto Invite on, which means it's open season.

 

If you plan to kick someone then let them know at least.

 

If you have a high level or unacceptable level then you'll get kicked a lot.

Join the Apex Stalkers crew. Never worry about sitting in a lobby for 15 minutes with no one joining. Never worry about joining a horrible 12-year-old basement dweller's version of jumps jumps jumps. Never worry about catchup. Never worry about getting intentionally spun out. Never worry about car classes or GTA races or Rally races. Just race clean and have fun.

Is NOS gone? I haven't bothered to race people since it existed... I think the update notes said it was gone but...they said a bunch of things, not all of which were accurate.

If I remember correctly, matchmaking is automatically set to closed when you start the job from an invite only session.

I've got my matchmaking set to closed all the time - it's down towards the bottom of the online settings. I haven't had an issue with it for months.

I always click auto invite then scroll down each option invite all from session, friends, crew, skilled matched players. But you know I rarely get people joining.
