Drug dealing

Am I the only one that is wondering why there's no drug dealing in GTA V? You could do it in china town wars and it was a great way to make money, and online they could expand on it so much more. People could race one another to a buyer, or to a supplier to get the best deal. People could sell to NPC's for cash or to other players for cash. NPC's could call to meet up and sometimes it's a smooth deal, sometimes the cops show, sometimes another gang/dealer shows..

 

I thought it was a great feature in china town wars and was wondering if I'm all alone on this?

Because the focus (criminal-wise) this time was Heists/Robbery.

IV= Assassination

VCS= Illegal Empires (edit: while it could be said that in VCS you did distribute drugs as a possible business venture, it was still a pretty basic "deliver X, take it back" or "pick up the product, prevent it from being stolen" type of missions)

LCS= Mob influenced Racketeering
SA= Gangbanging

VC= All-around Mafia related crime & Real Estate fronts.

Advance= oddly enough, GTA.
III= Assassination

 

A drug empire focused GTA would be interesting...but the media outcry would be almost to much to bear.

Also, knowing R*, the details would be important, and quite frankly...kids don't need to know anything about drug manufacturing/distribution.

I always wanted a Cartel/Narc themed GTA, but I know why it'll probably never happen.

In GTA china town wars you simply bought and sold drugs to make money. And that was on the game boy advance, which is pretty much the most child geared system (at that time). And no I'm not a bot I was actually just playing china town wars and the idea crossed my mind.

How exactly do you "sell out" by being bought & owned by someone else, anyway? The higher-up's give the orders, no matter what you say. That's not selling-out, that's following orders.

they shouldve done a lot of sh*t with this game, but they didn't. they just either got lazy, or decided to put a bunch of garbage in the game instead of stuff People would actually like.

Player 1 "Hey man you wanna buy some drugs?"

 

Player 2 "Sure man"

 

Player 1 "That'll be $500-"

 

Player 2 shoots Player 1 and takes drugs for free

 

 

Reason drug dealing would never work. Because of the "LOVELY* community

 

Why can't we have nice things?

you wouldnt JUST sell drugs to other players, but if you did, if someone kills you, you should only drop 1/4 of the drugs...

 

and you can even kill your partners during a heist and take their cut, i guess thats why heist will "never work" and wont be released...ever...

Not all ideas are good.

 

Also, GTA:O has the same redeeming values, with or without drug dealing. Would be great to see an emphasis on actual heists and related activities, potentially having some sort of interconnectivity, but that is just asking to make a silk purse out of a pig`s ear at this point.

I agree with OP I don't care how they do it, for example, I just bought the vestra and it is soo much fun but it's not really serving a purpose for me now, I want to use this plane to smuggle some sort of contraband c'mon rock star! Why on earth would they put this in the game if we couldn't use it! #frustrated

I think drug dealing is a bad idea for 2 reasons:

 

1. The game setting is not about drug dealing.

2. The actual implementation would be atrocious and very easy to be abused.

 

On the other hand, having consumables for heists and have a system similar to drug dealing, only with heist consumables, that might work. Would have to be carefully thought out, as it can end up with exploiting, like overinflated prices as a means to move money between players.

 

[EDIT] Probably nothing in here will ever see the light of day, seeing how heists are likely to be late by 6 months. Imagine how late would be a fully integrated system that would be at least equal in complexity with heists. As I said earlier, I`m not expecting anything new from Rockstar at this point.

I think drug dealing is a bad idea for 2 reasons:

 

1. The game setting is not about drug dealing.(the online dosent have any real "setting" as its just inconsistent and all over the place.)

Ahem... hundreds of thousands...divided among participants, sir. I really don`t think Uncle Rockstar will give us millions.

 

@SonofLosSantos - the online actually has a setting: look at who is giving you missions and why. It is a loose narrative about you, the player, but it does have consistent NPC`s. By consistent I understand the same "drive", or "personality" from SP.

Not dime bags I'm talking about trafficking/smuggling on a large scale, I'm talking about having trap houses all over town I'm talking about a full scale operation here, not dime bags
