Welcome to the official Grand Theft Auto V PC discussion thread, the place to discuss anything and everything regarding the to be announced GTA V PC version.

This is a thread refresh after nearly 10.000 posts to once again make everybody aware of the rules. So, new thread, new chances, another fresh start. However this time around some things are going to change. First of all this thread will be refreshed once every x pages/days, meaning it will get locked and a new thread opened once we hit the x page/days mark. That still leaves you all with x pages/days to mess this thread up. And considering the GTA V PC discussion's history of spam and trolling, a Zero-Tolerance policy is now effect. Meaning automatic disciplinary action will be taken for any and all cases of infractions of the rules as stated and linked below. So think twice before you post.

Keep the discourse civil and refrain from slinging and/or responding to personal attacks.

Do not respond to troll, spammers, disruptive characters and the like. Just report them and move on.

Do not post off-topic, general discussion about GTA V on PC is allowed, however keep other content not relating to GTA V PC out of this .thread.

 

Do not post any content that can be considered unlawful, defamatory, deceptive, libelous, obscene or offensive.

 

Do not post anything you know is false, misleading, or inaccurate.

 

Keep the posting of memes, gifs and other reactionary imagery to a minimum.

Do not double post, edit your initial post if you want to add something to it.

Well guys, going back to silver and what he lastly said, his official source told him they needed more time due to instability and some bugs, whereas these 2 other people he mentioned (who are not from rockstar as the other guy is but got their info accurately before) say the game is ready to be announced, so this leaves me thinking, What if this R* misterious guy/girl told that to silver to dissapoint us and make an announcement really soon to surprise us all? I don't think it is too wacky and itd be a hell of a surprise, doesn't sound wild to think of this week to me, hell it's been 6 months already, what do you guys think?

I touched on that and my opinion is that, if Silver considers WAU a source and he's saying that and his other 2 sources disagree (since Silver said he had 3 sources), I don't think WAU is a valid source.

Silver had one 100% trustworthy source, the other 2 came afterwards as guys who have sources on their own but also knew stuff silver was told but didnt tell us (safety I guess).

I also hope this is the last topic.

This game is amazing, it will be worth every penny spent on it.

I'll buy the best option available on Steam, if it already includes, for example: the Story DLC, after all is the continuing story of the game, and required to understand more about the characters and etc...
I'm with good expectations about the graphical leap from the Old Gen.
But I'm afraid that the game ends up getting a little heavy for this fault.
But this time Rockstar will make a nice optimization, making possible many computers being able to run it.

Recently I have stopped believing in what Silver says.
Well, I'm not obligated, and no one is obliged to believe.
I'm very skeptical. It is much easier to believe in something when there is evidence.
He said, he can not give evidence of what he says is true, because of certain reasons.

I respect that.

But for me things are not that way.
So, I'll keep like that.
He is a nice person, and writes very well. And I have not lost respect for him.
All I want is you guys to not keep fighting because of him and stuff, respect others opinion too, this makes everything better on the topic.
Let's try not to destroy this one of many chances we had of making a nice and clean topic, where we can and should discuss about the game in a civilized manner.

Of course, this is actually the only, 100% legitimate source of information for us, but after 3 years of waiting we are just trying to grab every piece of information, that will give us some hope. We are just really tired of waiting for that glorious version of GTA V! I really hope that the announcement will happen this month!

If R* was to announce a collector's edition coinciding with the PC release, what should be included with it? Should it be the same as the consoles or should they change it up?

 

I for one would wish they would include a limited edition keyboard and "gaming" mouse. Along with a gold usb with the a lossless copy of the soundtrack on it. I know it's unlikely, but it would be cool to have.

I have this creeping feeling in the back of my head sometimes as well. But I assure myself that the outrage from PC owners alone would prevent a thought like that to be taken seriously by R*.

LMAO I'm bored, and will be 52 years old next month. And I'm not getting any young.

I do not own and will not buy a console. The 1st pc I built was in 1998 right after windows 98 came out.

I have watched all kinds of video's on Box & PS about this game. I'm still waiting for GTA V for PC to come out.

 

 

R*, when will PC gamers get some love? ,Info?

P.S.

I'm not buying the wait. I'm buying the game. Bugs, glitches are going to happen.

Alright then. I assume inquiring about how many PC threads we've had so far is considered to be off-topic. Guess I'll go search for all of them myself or something.

Anyway, we're about to celebrate the half a year anniversary of waiting for GTA V on PC in just 7 more days. Honestly, if I was told the wait for an actual official acknowledgement or even denial of a PC version was half a year away starting September, I think I would've just given up on GTA V as a whole.

 

At least with Red Dead Redemption they said; "No PC version because reasons". Heck, even with LA Noire they said they had no plans for the PC version, but announced it just a mere month later.

 

I can definitely see how this long period of no communication could be considered unreasonable. Seeing as Rockstar was so quick to make statements about other versions of their games in the past.

I pretty much said exactly this in the first GTA V PC thread. GTA Online throws a massive monkey wrench into the plans of porting the game to PC. It means they need a massive infrastructure to support the new platform in online. That means new servers, no frontend, etc.

Not to mention now adding a 3rd platform to patch and support and it's just not looking good.

They pretty much have no choice but to support new platforms with Online. That transition is happening one way or another for obvious reasons.

 

I don't believe it's an obstacle. Not when it comes to GTA V's Story Mode. There's always the possibility of giving us Singleplayer first, then getting GTA: Online out there when it's good and ready. In this case, when they can support it with new servers and such.

 

We'll be just fine without Online for a bit. Since we have a lot of catching up to do with SP.

I just cannot see them forgoing this game on the PC, this is freakin' GTA we're talking about. RDR? Yeah, maybe. But GTA has been on the PC ever since the originals, not counting the stories. It would just make zero sense to stop now.

They're gonna milk GTA Online dry and when the revenue dies; they'll release the singleplayer only for PC in a half ass port ie. GTAIV; milk it for a bit and then leave.

Should be fine. As long as the optimization is proper.

 

I don't see the system requirements changing that much from the requirements of Max Payne 3. Although It'll definitely require more RAM because it's open world.
