This was me until I realized you have to get out of your carr before the money bags drop. Hope this helps you because they have been spawning back to back after you get one lately.

its hard to tell unless you have 0 in your pocket when you hit it. 3-4 bags of cash at 2500 a piece is about average

I think the people saying get out before you blow the knob are right.

 

Dunno why but it does seem like when I blow it good 'n hard from the rear works better than blowing when sitting down.

 

Also AP Pistol works great, I had used the shotty before someone suggest the AP.

I've never gotten more than 10k but did have like 10 trucks rapid spawn on me which was nice.

I think the very most I ever got was once, shortly after launch, shortly after I unlocked them, I got something like $12k. Since then, I probably get around $6k, sometimes less, but not often much more.

Best score was 3 bags, $8341 each, that was after the 6th truck in a session I think. They seen to pay more if you hit them consecutively without a wanted level, invite only works best so you don't have guests while doing so.
