MALE vs FEMALE: Which one do you prefer playing as?

I like playing with my dude character because he looks more friendly than my 80s mohawk chick.

I'm male and I play as a female character in GTA Online. I think it would be badass to have a female lead in a GTA game, but we don't have one yet and this is the closest GTA's gotten so I felt, "why not?"

I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. I play as female leads from time to time in games since playing as a guy is so easy to do anyway. This one being the most badass of any I've ever played, and like in some RPGs, I got to define who she was, her backstory, etc etc, so I appreciate that Rockstar left that so open for storytelling purposes.

Its like writing a book, or movie more so in this case. Pretty cool. When I'm playing a male character in a game, I can more or less role-play the character as me, but when I play a female character, its like roleplaying a defined character that clearly isn't me.

Depends, really - my main character (male) is basically me, so it's not so much a character as it is my virtual presence in the game. Looks like me, and (legal and moral issues of GTA aside), 'acts' like I would in Los Santos, if I were a criminal mastermind.

On the one hand, I'm more invested in that character than any other, and likewise all the cars are ones I'd personally want to have in real life (tricked-out Mazdas/Hondas/Nissans, a Jaguar XK, a Pontiac, etc.). On the other, it's much more restrictive - I don't smoke, drink, do drugs or ever want a tattoo or piercing, and so there's a whole ream of possible options that I'm forgoing, because they don't suit 'me' in real life.

The reverse goes for my 2nd, who's female, clearly isn't me, and thus is actually kinda more liberating to use - I don't mind messing around with face paint or daft clothing options, and I'm more inclined to try different cars and customisation options that I wouldn't want to saddle my main 'avatar' character with. Getting high/drunk, beating the living sh*t out of pedestrians, driving a bright pink car? All things I wouldn't want to do 'myself', but my alt. character is free to indulge in, because I'm less personally invested in them.

So yeah - prefer male, because I'm a guy, and thus it's 'me in GTA'. But female is fun too, because they're different enough to make playing a second character feel fresh, and not like re-treading the same ground as I did the first time.

On that note, I'd recommend that anyone starting a second character try the opposite gender to their first - and likewise avoid buying the same cars/properties as they did first time around. Even try favouring different weapons and mission tactics - it really does breathe new life into the game.

I like the personality I worked out for Aislin(my character). Badass that she is, with her own history, experiences, attitude, preferences, etc etc. The opportunities are vast.

That's pretty much how I feel with my female character - as I say, where my main is just 'me' (short pale British sociopath), and thus could be considered 'role-playing' (I guess), my second is almost like a movie character that I've created (Korean-American tomboy, and juvenile delinquent street-racer - like something straight out of the 'Fast & The Furious' films).

As a result, my gameplay style/modus operandi changes - with my first, it's "what would I do?". With my female alt., it's "what would make for a good story with/about this character?".

Male. I customized a female to see if I could make her attractive. She was alright until I realized she was freakishly tall like a basketball player. Deleted her, don't feel like trying again.

Those are my thoughts too (it's much easier on my eye to watch the girls ass in the tight jeans, the pink ones with the magic pockets and a dark demin top to accentuate ass goes well lol, I originally had both male and female characters on the same level but imho the game is so much more fun as a girl even without the added better looking rear. I'm straight as they come so I actually wonder what's up with guys that like to spend all day looking at another guy. I guess a young boy who's not yet confident in his maleness might not like to play the girl character but I'm old and crusty and I like to watch lol. I'm even happy to wear a pink shirt while rocking a beard in real life, that's just me.

So here's the funny thing. If you're a guy and you play as a female you either have some 'serious issues' to work out or are a pervert? Interesting.. What if you have two characters with one of each gender?

I totally like looking at my girl's ass while I am running around in GTA0. As I have said elsewhere, in a third person shooter, the view never changes. So it might as well be a nice view. :rol:

Guys who have problems with guys who play as girls have some serious issues to work out. In real life, When a guy finds himself walking along and there is a nice girl walking up ahead, what does he focus on? The sky? The traffic? His smartphone? Gum on the sidewalk? I think not. :p

I play as a girl. There's nothing wrong with that. Plus, it's way cooler to see a girl kill some buttholes than a guy character IMO. However, the main reason I play as a female is because my character is a cosplay of Viper.

I recently did that glitch that allows you to change the appearance of your existing character to try playing as a female, and it's... interesting to say the least. I've had several players come up to me in freeroam and do the thrust motion, and one of these people even sent me a friend request afterwards. :D

I like it though, it changes things up.

Guys who play as girls have some serious issues to work out.

So just because someone wants to change things up and do something different then what you would do, they have serious issues? :facedesk:

Guys who play with a female character are either 12-18 year old virgins who get turned on by that stuff or little kids who think they are being funny. Anyone who plays as a female and aren't turned on by it or isn't a little kid needs to re-evaluate their live choices....

Male ... because I am a male, people can do whatever they want if they don't hurt somebody, so If they want to make a female character, it's good, but just don't roleplay as such.

I don't think I have ever seen the sky but I can tell you exactly the racial heritage of any girl by looking at her ass :O So a life well spent surely, am I right? In the end that's what being a male is all about.

Too many freaks who give you way too much attention if you're a Female character. You should have seen what that was like on PS Home.....not trying to attract these...weirdies (that's being mad polite)
