GTA Online ruined GTA.

If it's a single player sandbox urban crime game that you want, forget GTA, go get Saints Row 2 if you haven't played it already. Cruddy graphics but far more fun and interesting in terms of missions, story, characters, humour, side activites and semi-non linear game progression.

Its not the game itself, its the f*cking "fans" that ruins it.

The game itself is great, and, IMO, one of the best GTA games (second best in the series, a tie with TBOGT. IMO of course). Its, as stated above, the fans who f*cking ruins it and makes me wish that the devs didn't make SA even though I love it.

 

To keep it short and not de-railing the thread, I'll say this: You probably haven't been into the GTAV section when the game was first released.

That's not the worst part. The worst part is: Rockstar only cares about the Online. All the singleplayer gets is the vehicles. Leaving it to dead with the rushed storyline.

One reason sp would be hard to add much content other than vehicles, weapons, cloths, etc. Is voice actors. Their job is done. It would be hard to round up the actors necessary to pull this off.

If you've ever played any previous gta is easy to see it was rushed, even if you discount the massive list of bugs. Lots of stores and restaurants and other buildings like the banks which some have interiors and some don't, foods carts with no one ruining them, lots of things like that.

You haven't play GTA games before, have you? If that's your definition of "rushed" then all of them were. In fact, V is the most polished of the lot, though it has it's flaws.

This is a lot of stuff they could've added to the game. I would've preferred if money was easier to earn and DLC vehicles to be far cheaper than they already are. They have ruined the Online, it's all about money & glitches now and the game get's boring really easily because majority of people don't have enough money to buy anything to make the game fun.

GTAO is fun but I still have better memories of single player even after playing GTAO for something like 23 days vs 2 maybe.

 

I have a lot of good memories tied to songs during play, getting to know characters, and surprise cool stuff like the torture you just don't get in GTAO. I was also truly upset killing Michael at the end, my favorite but he was a snitch and had to go. (yes I know I did not have to kill someone)

I'm always a big GTA fan. I mean, Grand Theft Auto is the best franchise to me, it was never meant to be a milked game like Call of sh*tty, or Assassin's Greed.

Other sandbox games never make me wanna play them. It has something that makes me a royalty fan to the series.

When i first see the GTA Online trailer, my mind was blown, i thought to myself: "This would be another legendary GTA like GTA SA".

But no. Instead, all we get is the f*cking fans who don't play other GTA beside GTA Online. Hell, they don't even play the Singleplayer, they just bought the game for the Online. 90% GTA Online videos on Youtube are tutorials on how to use glitches to cheat the money, or videos about random sh*ts with kids yelling, laughing and screaming like idiots.

This is "Grand THEFT Auto" right? Not "Grand BUY Auto" for f*ck sake.

The game is about killing ,shooting, and carjacking, not do all the jobs for the money, and then buy apartments.

i think as far as the franchise goes R* is trying something different with GTAO, GTAO is the future of R* they will never stop that there treating it like a mobile app thats how there making the money. Now as far as the story mode goes that was a the worst... everything/anything they have ever made/ what we all have now is an unfinished product. they over hyped the game there's a lot of false advertisement an almost every trailer they showed. everything about this game sucks graphics, physics, content and ect, ... but the idea of GTAO is the best online game so far i mean no game can compare to the GTAO experience. honestly if people really cared we could all just start playing online every single person and basically protest the R* franchise lol but no one will theres no one who has a big voice, on people who post there feed back and bitch of the game online. and you mentioned "90% GTA Online videos on Youtube are tutorials on how to use glitches to cheat the money, or videos about random sh*ts with kids yelling, laughing and screaming like idiots." well this is called entertainment this is what the people want. i mean theres nothing els that happens when you finish the story game what can u possible do on story mode to continue the fun? cheats? no gta game has unless you play with a co-op which leads to online

You do realise that EVERY gta protagonist, works for money right?....just saying, its about criminal life not random acts of crime...thats what kids and some girls do, they play story mode, dont do any missions and just perform random acts of crime and violence....GTAonline is the GTA shared and more developed experience, I have every other GTA and tbh its time to forget them and move on.

This is nothing new. Any of you bitching about the game, guess what? People bitched about GTA IV. And San Andreas. And Vice City. And.. well, actually, not GTA III because that game blew everyone's minds seeing as how it was the first (well made) of its kind.

That means that since the game was announced, it has established 3,171,470 posts about it, within 150,968 threads.

 

Yeah, some of them are bitch fests and some threads are garbage threads, but the numbers still don't lie - GTA IV has been in existence since 2008, and it was announced well before then. In a fraction of that time, GTA V has met and FAR exceeded its number of posts.

 

You're not going to convince me that the reason GTA V has absolutely blown away the previous GTA games in terms of discussion is because people hate it. You're wrong if that's what you think.

 

GTA V is an incredible game with some frustrations abound. Just like GTA IV and every GTA before it. If you're so biased and cynical that you can't admit to once having frustrations with GTA IV, the game you now praise as perfection, then you're not worth arguing with.

I am not disagreeing that V is good but those numbers are popularity The game has grown. I honestly thought IV

was the worst gta and look at the numbers. It was like revisiting three. And liberty citries a handheld remake as well. Vice City and SA were epic though.

 

I think V was too short and probably because focus was moving to online with a long term revenue stream.

Yes, the hackers and glitchers are bad. The fact that they are making us pay real money to get in game things we can just earn, is kinda a evil marketing plan. I want more coop... Or maybe a 3 player drop in drop out so where others can take control over any of the 3 characters and do so heists together..... So is great... Mp cheating and PvP is alright...
