GTA Online ruined GTA.

I'm not bothered by the online aspect of games, especially GTA. To me, it adds more variety to the game. I can agree that it is annoying when people do not even bother playing the story, because I like to discuss story mode with other players and when they don't have a clue about what I'm talking about, I get the urge to smack them.

I'm on my second play through of story mode and I'm taking my time. The story was short, but still enjoyable for me. While online is what is popular, today, I will still play a game's story mode over and over, if I enjoyed it. Even games that don't have online modes, if the story is good, I'll play it again and again.

The online isnt terribly bad. Its just very pvp centred and it gets boring fast as a result.

 

If you go back to when online was first mentioned the biggest demand was for cooperative gameplay. It always has been. In gta 5 many people hoped with there being 3 chaeacters you could play with your mates and each be a different character as you play through the story.

 

In gta4 it was the same and in san andreas which didnhave some crappy 2player modes but nothing story related or even gang attack related. even in vice city I remember huge topics on various forums about players wishing there friends could play as lance vance in guardian angels and other characters in other missions.

 

Its easily one of he biggest demands / wishes for every gta game. Years from now it will be one of the most wanted features in gta 6 and for many players including myself they were hoping that itnwould be something provided for in gta online. But gta online has no story at all so itnkinda sucks.

But no. Instead, all we get is the f*cking fans who don't play other GTA beside GTA Online. Hell, they don't even play the Singleplayer, they just bought the game for the Online. 90% GTA Online videos on Youtube are tutorials on how to use glitches to cheat the money, or videos about random sh*ts with kids yelling, laughing and screaming like idiots.

This is "Grand THEFT Auto" right? Not "Grand BUY Auto" for f*ck sake.

The game is about killing ,shooting, and carjacking, not do all the jobs for the money, and then buy apartments.

That's not the worst part. The worst part is: Rockstar only cares about the Online. All the singleplayer gets is the vehicles. Leaving it to dead with the rushed storyline.

GTA is dead to me if Rockstar keeps doing this sh*t.

I thought the storyline was pretty good for a game with three main characters.

 

Anyway, online adds major replayability. SP is great, no doubt, but even people can get bored of Skyrim for example.

GTA V's story feels to scripted, and heists feel like on-rail minigames. And vehicle handling physics feel like a Saints Row game.

Alot of you seem to be annoyed to quickly, it is fairly easy to avoid the people who want kill you or who want to blow up your PV.

If somebody does manage to kill me then I am alright with that, but they can expect to get a few deaths after that. I think things like this actually make the game more fun but, okay..

 

I also don't understand the butthurt ppl who bitch about their PVs getting destroyed all the time.. is it that hard to make 2 calls to get it back within arm's reach?

 

This has been said before, and I'll say it again;

If you don't like the way the game is then don't play it! It's that simple.

 

Oh and btw, there are so many other things to prevent you from interacting with other players like:

 

- Passive mode

- Invite only session

- Story mode

Off Topic: It really kills me when people use Battlefield in things that have to do with SP, BF has Always and I mean "Always" been a Multiplayer game, just recently it got SP, Bad Company was also for MP not SP only. So Every new bf gane that comes out is always gonna be MP. Just because BF is a known shooter don't use it in a convo about SP games and MP games and which is longer lasting...

 

On Topic: GTA-O is still GTA same old GTA, but once the SP is done, that's it no more SP besides replaying. Some people I can understand, they have no friends to play with them online because they are so miserable. But don't blame Us or R* because you dont have friends. SP might not have been the mouth-watering game you guys wanted but oh well. Don't have high expectations. After you finished it, go make some friends Chap:), because bitching about it on a Forum that R* Probably will never look at isn't going to make them suddenly come here and be like "Oh sh*t, we should consider these horrible ideas to our game."

The only drawback is that it does take time, 20-30 minutes and can get boring. Since it's the first thing I do (have it on a playlist so I just warp there) it's not bad. I use it as a warm up and I never ever buy ammo except for explosives.

 

 

So play a different Survival? Railyard, Sandy Shores and Processed all have good camping spots too.

GTA Online is popular with players like me because I enjoyed the now "limited" GTA 4 Multi-player ----so GTAO has that beat in almost every way except for the ease of finding DMs I didn't have to quit out of...PTF I'm talking to you...lol.

 

I left SP at about 53% complete and I'm in no rush to play it unless we get new stuff and I test it in SP before I invest Online for junk.

Perhaps when Heists are released I'll pick up SP as I have only done one Heist in SP.

Most people wouldn't have stuck around for IV if it weren't for the multiplayer. f*ck, pretty much every long-lasting game is because of multiplayer. Burnout, LBP, Battlefield, even COD.

 

Nobody gives a sh*t about Sleeping Dogs or Just Cause anymore because they have no long-lasting multiplayer. Fun singleplayer, but it doesn't last long because it's singleplayer.

 

That's all SP is, and that's all SP will ever be. A short playthrough everyone enjoys and that's that.

And here is what I found myself doing. I only bought Bullshark once, and all i was doing from then to now is grinding coveted playlists, and Rooftop Rumble, tried many money glitches(I never pulled one off), and I sold too many cars. I had so many cars that i needed a second garage. After selling my Last car(It was a blazer) I looked at my cars and I noticed that i only had 6 cars. I'm like "wtf happened to my cars". I sold nearly all of them i didn't have 1 car in my second garage. After glazing over my half empty garage i searched for some cars to buy, and I did not find satisfaction in 1 single car after all those cars I sold that I could have kept. I had 300K, and wanted more. This game is a true addiction. I am so eager to get rid of this game now, but something keeps trying to hold me down from doing that, THATS THE SPIRIT OF ADDICTION YA'll. Right now it is 5:25 AM.....its not good. I now believe this is game was meant to be an addiction. This game literally produced stress and nothing more. I only found joy in killing. Maybe you others like that stuff. But Where i'm at right now I can't have that stuff in my head. Go ahead and say what you want to say about me, I won't do nothing.

For me SP is the better of the two but I play MP because I like to interact! I would play more SP If they made something new for it or added in multiplayer in single player so play with two other people as the mains! I will enjoy GTAO when it calms down (hoping that happens when destiny comes out).

I have never once been tempted to buy a cash card. I have everything I need – all weapons, a fully modded 10 car garage including a super car, all earned legitimately in-game. I never even grind easy cash and RP activities simply because I find it boring to do so.

 

You simply cannot accuse R* of greed for offering a facility to people that can't be bothered to play the game properly. If there was no option to buy cash cards, you can bet the spoilt little rich kids would be moaning that there should be!

 

I have said this in several posts previously and I'll say it again. Earning decent money without cheating or grinding doesn't take long. You might have to play for a few days in order to afford the chrome Adder that you're so desperate for, but that's the game. If you just want everything NOW! NOW! NOW! then buy a cash card, but that's on you, not R*.

To be honest, I miss the single-player game. I think I'm going to go back and play through again because in my over-excitement I burnt through my first play-through. I was quite gutted the single player DLC promised for March or something(?) never came to fruition, and I find GTA Online is only fun now playing with Crew members - which I intend to do at the weekends when everyone is on. In all honesty I'm quite missing Fallout NV, so maybe its time to put GTA away for a while, Online has just about burnt me out.
