Fixing Lag issues/Connection Timeouts

While I appreciate this article, for the people that have genuinely superb connections, this is just enraging.

 

The blame most often lies in the hardware of the bag of sh*t consoles we have...

 

I hate the whole "elitist PC master race crowd" but every time I fire up GTAO on my laptop, it plays like an absolute dream, no lag, ridiculously fast loading screens and superb graphics... The only problem is modding pricks.

 

Whenever I play on PS4 (also wired), it runs like a box of old arse...

 

My laptop has the following specs:

 

MSI GT72S 6QE Dominator Pro G

GTX 980M @ 8GB

Intel i7 6820HK

24GB DDR5 RAM

SUper Raid 4

250GB SSD

Killer Shield Ethernet controller + Wifi

 

And heres my PS4 specs:

 

1 White box

1 tortoise

1 miniature treadmill

& a 1TB SSHD

 

Oh and the internet is Gigabit internet, 1GB up & 1GB down, usually sub 5MS ping with everything connected over CAT6e

XBOX1X has improved our gaming experience ten fold from the XBOX1

 

Our ISP is limited to the carrier of last resort.

 

Anyway the positive is less loading in times

15 seconds faster coming out of the hangar.......off radar

Amazing graphics & detail

Being able to see is real nice in a fire fight...

Hardware designed for the huge demanding software, etc.

 

I know I forgot much more positive things about the latest & greatest but greatly impressed.

Has anyone else had issues with connecting since the last update? The update just dropped right before Christmas and I was on vacation until January shortly after so I didn't get a ton of time to try it. Since I got back I have had no luck connecting to friends in public sessions, I either get failed to find compatible session or timeouts. The funny thing is I can connect to my brother with no issues, but if a specific friend is in his session, I can not connect. Doesn't matter if it is public, private, or job, if he is there the connection will fail. I have contacted Rockstar and nothing. My NAT is open, everything meets requirements, everything they throw at me I pass with out issues. Does anybody have any ideas? I can play other games just fine, just not GTA.

Constant disconnects and long load times, regardless of the help for connection, there has not been a game that is as bad as GTA V online. People need to stop making excuses for GTAO and they need to fix their sh*t. I have over 200 games and none of the online ones have anything remotely close to issues that this game has. It is this game specific. No amount of port forwarding, static ip, proper wifi channel, and DMZ can fix the bullsh*t I experience with this game. It took me 3 days to get a group to complete the Pacifica Bank Heist due to connection issues or people leaving and the horrible set up causing me to go back to the online portion only to error out and go back to single player and the set up is abysmal.

I may not be IT guy and this maybe kindergarden advice, but from my experience, these issues happen less often if you have good connection with host (low ping).
