Do my FRIENDS know my name. Yes. I've known my usual group of xbox friends for about 6 years. They know me, I know them.

When randoms online ask my name? No. If I've talked to them a bit, it's whatever.

I play with my real-life friends and I call them and they call me by name when we're playing.

Most of my PSN friends are real life friends, so yes. There's a few people I've added or been added by from these forums, I'm gonna assume they could guess my first name anyway.

Hes an idiot and I have to threaten him to make him stop blurting it out....but I know his name as well, and he hates it when I say it so its an even battle field.

 

Moral of the story is, keep it to usernames, anything else gets too complicated.

I've known some 'online' people for over a decade. I consider them to be good friends and most do know me very well, including several things about my personal life. I've known other people for just a few years and they do know some things but not everything. It takes time to build trust.
