I held the World Record time on the Greenwich Meantime. It was like the second day of GTAO being live. And then I lost it.

I think the records had been re-set with patch 1.11.

 

Some of them seem normal times. So I went on one of the new ones (cant remember name) Its the short oval track in the centre of the city - very basic. I check the times and both normal and GTA times where in reach.

 

Got to within 2 seconds in 'normal race' mode. Raced on my own though so if catch-up was on and I had held back it would have been close.

 

So I checked the GTA race and the time was very similar BUT you can pick up the boosts.

 

So I picked my Akuma and set off - Broke the record first try. Then again went faster on a 2nd run.

 

I now have the tattoo for It which is quite cool.

 

I only noticed this because my friend in another lobby set a world record and it came up on my screen - then he set another one 2 minutes later. But the time where ones that are normal and not 30 seconds for 3 minute lap.

 

 

 

2ND POINT: surely R* can use the lap times - that are clearly shown - to find the modders and remove them. if you have a lap of 10 seconds set in a crap car then its clearly a game mod.

I'm kinda annoyed when it comes to world records, back when GTAO first was released I broke the world record on a race or two but when that character was killed off by the dastardly cloud it didn't save that I did it on Social club and I really wanted that tattoo, it seems like every world record is either barely a second to five seconds.

 

Only hope for beating one now is air races which were the hardest to begin with.

 

It worked out though in a way...new character looks better than the meth'd out abomination I had before that had eyes that were always like O_O....not sure what my new character's race is though (I'll just go with Puerto Rican)..it adds to the mystique though I suppose.

on ps3 criminal records is screwed up right now.

a few people on my friends list were playing it and all of them were setting a new world record on it.

 

even when they went slower a second time it still popped up that they had set a new world record.

then i tried it and set a new world record and unlocked a tattoo.

It would actually be great fun if it had not been F**ked up.

 

So many people would be trying it that the times would be insanely close. You could use team mates to draft or go off ahead of you so your 2nd lap had maximum catch-up working.

 

It would be a great extra for the online world.

 

But as normal everything gets ruined by a few dumb ass fools.

These records have been screwed up since day one. Even if I break a record I still get no award. Even a hole in one is doable with some practice and patience but this is bullsh*t to the max.

I loved being in the top 3 track times word wide on GTA IV for the first few years on pretty much every track.. good old days. Then i took an arrow to the knee.

I set a world record back in October and haven't so much as looked at a leaderboard since. I figured they would all be illegitimate times, and R* would neglect to wipe the LBs.

 

In Forza 4, I have a bunch of top 100 times that occasionally jump to top 50 when the LBs are wiped by T10. I give zero f*cks about lap times in this game.

Most of the WR (PS3) have been glitched/hacked. As if I do a clean lap or someone else does a clean lap of certain tracks we will still be about a minute behind the WR. As of now WR are pointless.
