Will they ever let us idle?

Bunch of friends on my PSN list all got together from 'Idling' in hilarious place in GTA IV, mostly on building or in the pirate ship far far away from land. I also enjoyed idling on RDR where I would often leave my PS3 on all night and hideout in the elaborate caves near Dutch's hideout.

GTA V kick you after 13 minutes of idling which I obviously hate. For me it takes the 'free' out of 'free roam' think about the concept of free roam, you dont what you want, motorbikes on trains, shootouts, whatever you feel like, but with all these costumes and the introduction of 'money' Rockstar are attempting to move us away from free roam and into meh missions etc.

I can idle in this game but putting elastic on my controller and spinning the camera often crashes my old PS3, or everyone will simply leave the lobby at once which I am pretty sure is Rockstar's servers.

Best places to idle in GTA V:

-Submarine just off the pier, people die diving down looking for you

-Train cabin glitch and below the driver's feet so you're not visible at all

-Lester's house

-The top of the bridgework near the docks (passive mode)

-Up near the Altruist camp

yo if you join a game you should play and not stand somewhere. they kick you after 13min to free the slot for another player.

I don't want to join a 16 session where half of the players are AFk...

If you want to idle play wow

What kind of absolute f*cking loser 'idles' for fun in an online game?

My mind is boggled.

its "fun" to do in large-ish groups, like, setting bounties on eachother and taking submarines to the bottom of the pier

its funny how everyone else in the lobby groups up over us like

Yo, I dont Idle for fun, that is just stupid... like for real.. jus burning coal for no reason. But sometimes, like I wanna cook up some food mid game... So I hop in the apartment for some AFK time... Now... IT takes more then 13 min to cook up some good tacos if you doin it from scratch. Problem is, its not MUCH longer... like 30 - 40 min tops... then I want to continue playing while eatin my tacos... I shouldnt have to go join a new game, find my friends again, wait through minutes of loading when I could of just stayed in my crib... which is what i thought the reason for having a crib was.... cooked up some food, came back and continued playing.

Also... this isnt just for cooking... I've went and done food/beer/weed runs down the street while in the apartment. Say I wanna get ready for work but get like 30 min of playing in before I actually have to leave... well apartment for 30 min while I shower and get dressed. Then boom im there ready to go... not loading.

Anyways... Line needs to be drawn somewhere because leaving your av in game all night just eats up server space and energy.... but cooking some food... running a quick errand... or even taking a really long sh*t... 13 min? come on... what if i just ate those tacos and need a bit more time on the pot...

I don't understand how that's supposed to be fun?

Do you sit there watching the screen? I could kind of understanding getting joy out of seeing people try find you. But that would get old quick.

But you said you've left your ps3 overnight before with you idling in RDR..how is that fun? Maybe if you record it and can see what happened... Or do you just wake up and get excited about the possibility of people looking for you online where as in actuality no one even went near you.

Maybe I'm missing something...but if I see ssomeone isn't moving on the map I don't even go near them. Heaps more to do than watch a guy stand around afk.

Red Dead Redemption is one of my favorite games, but I have to ask:

Why would you do such a thing?

If you really don't want to idle out, go to your apartment and watch TV.

Is Lester Siesta - Siray?

that is like 10 new threads in one day, all over sh*t that has been discussed many times... and judging by the nature of your thread, you know that. Which is why the title is worded as is.

Whoever came up with the idea that you get kicked for idling should be fired from Cockstar. If youre in a Deathmatch or Race then you should be kicked but not in Free Mode

Yea because the purpose of an online game is to leave your guy standing there doing nothing for 3 hours and wasting the use of an entire server for your free roam session because everyone else timed out.

I do not think you will last long on these forums.

Yes it happened to me also. Not sure when it does. Maybe if u watch the regular channels and not the other players could be why.

don't be a f*cking drama queen

god damn man, if you can take 30 minutes out of your time to cook some stinking tacos you sure as hell can spare a few more to log back into online

hell, you even have f*cking tacos while you wait!

I can see doing it for a bit to cook and eat but leaving it on all night... Do you hate money and want to give it all to your local power company that badly?

At first I was inclined to disagree. Idle players take up spots that could be being used by active players. However I now feel that if these charitable souls want to stay on, unmoving for hours for everyone else to buff their KDR so be it.

Yeah because this community is so f*cked up that you can't have your own opinion, else you will get flamed. Maybe i shouldn't have used the word Cockstar but everyone does and no one cares
