Win/lose ratio, does it matter?

Well, I have a 340-260 or so record myself, but raced against quite a few people too who had records like 400-1000 and can actually be prouder of that record than I can be of mine. I know some of those guys have raced pretty much every race in a racing crew with very good competition and with like 10 people competing, whereas I have half my wins against 2 or 3 crappy opponents.

A 100-200 record against the best racer in GTA is much better than having a 200-100 record against some idiots.

So no, W-L record says absolutely nothing.

Only way to really see who's good is to have tournaments like the ones they had in PGR for example.

The Lonesome Drifter

I went into a race last night when someones bragging around like "i got 94 wins under my belt, you cant beat me" *ends up pitting everyone in sight* (no wonder how he won) but anyway once you've unlocked everything for your car does it actually matter then how much times youve won/lost?

I have 234 wins (but 276 losses) and I race clean, this guy hasn't got sh!t to brag about :D

I care about my dm ratio, sitting at 73/38 or something so a great record. Top 1000 in a lot of the races as well

It doesn't matter in my opinion, just like how all video game stats dont really matter when you really think about it.

I don't believe it matters. I play for fun, not competition.

Sir Michael

For me, it really matters. I don't botch races or deathmatches on purpose.. I believe in earning my wins the hard way. (:

My W/L for racing is 333-344 and they were mostly with randoms.. maybe 20 with friends and crew members, but those were for clean racing.

Deathmatches, I'm at 48-18. Most of the wins were from Fort Zancudo, but I tend to stay away from TDM as much as possible.

Parachuting, I got 38-7.

I don't even know my win/loss ratio, but I'm sure it's on the bad side. I don't really care either way, I got all my upgrades open on my main. I'll worry about the second one when I get to it...

As a lot of others have stated it means absolutely zero. In F1 Sebastian Vettel has 39 wins from 120 starts. 4 straight world championships. This is a man that has dominated the top level of motor racing for the last few years straight. Thats a win loss ratio of .325. I know this isnt f1 but if anyone has a significantly higher win/loss than that something is dodgy in my mind. Its too easy to manipulate to mean anything.

Since almost everyone here says the win loss ratio does not affect betting then can someone tell me what does?

300 W 700 L, I couldn't care less about my racing stats. I care more about DM stats because IMO Fighting and Survival are more relevant than racing in GTA. 700 W 300 L in DMs.

But not because he's a good driver (by F1 standards)

OT: my race w/l ratio is absolutly horrible, it's (roughly) 80 wins and 400 losses. The weird thing is i love to race, but alot of my crew don't so if i wanna race i have to join randoms and usually just get spun out towards the end and lose my place

I understand the car played a big role in his success but you cant say he is not any good behind the wheel. He would still be a top tier f1 driver. As for you w/l ratio. A 1 in 5 (close enough to) chance of a win is decent odds if the cometition is even. However if you only raced with one other terrible driver for those races it would not be as impressive. Thats why win loss ratio really means jack in this game.

Not really. Youd have to be damn good to have a winning record in this game. my record is like 400-700 but i have boosted and help boost so many races ill never know what my true record is as many others have as well. its about as accurate as k/d ratio lol

BewareoftheBears

I have 1668 wins and 1223 losses, but I know I'm not the best racer, there's a ton of better people in my crew (GTA Race Crew).

Don't really think it matters that much, I can usually win almost every public race with randoms but in a large crew lobby it's tough to win. Some of my crew members have close to 10,000 races played, I thought I raced a lot but I have 1/3 of races played compared to some of them. I can usually hold my own and finish between 4-7 in a full lobby.

I don't even care about wins that much anymore like I used to, I mostly just race with the crew now and have racked up my losses column in doing that lol.

Total races matters more to me. I like being on the track with experienced drivers.

I'll admit, I have been working on getting my record positive, like many of my crew mates. Reached the first milestone yesterday. I've been racing randoms a good bit.

W 1000 L 1544

At the rate I'm going, I should even out at 2000/2000.

When I'm hosting my DMs, I'm starting to look at each individuals K/D ratio now. Cause the only time it matters to when you have a K/D ratio of 4+ not with a new-ish character, then I'm pretty sure your running mods. Insta-kick.

Catch-up On

Rammers

User created races

GTA race - get out the car and kill.

570 W 320 L

949-599; is my current legitimate record(over two accounts), and i am usually racing quality players/racers too(if it "matters" to you).

My racing stats as of right now:

Win 886 - lose 339

300 W 700 L, I couldn't care less about my racing stats. I care more about DM stats because IMO Fighting and Survival are more relevant than racing in GTA. 700 W 300 L in DMs.

Never fails to crack me up. As soon as I saw the subject line, I thought "here comes some patented GTA Badassery." And sure enough. My favorite is the guy who uses the opportunity to somehow brag about his deathmatch record in a thread devoted to giving people the opportunity to brag about their racing records. That's pure cartoon gold right there.

You'll notice at no time did OP ask "so what's your racing record?" but you can't resist throwing it in there, even if has no real relevance to the question. Just answer his damn question without getting a brag in.

I'm gonna go ahead and call it rule 1 of GTA Online posting: before posting anything, ask yourself "is this gonna give GTA Badasses the opportunity to brag about what badasses they are?" If so, then skip it, it's not worth it to have to read through every asshole under the sun talk about how great they are at a video game just to try to get an answer to your question.

If win-loss records are important to you, they're important. If they're not, they're not. There you go.

No, all W/L shows is how many assholes you play with.

For Races, the only time W/L matters is if the player plays EXCLUSIVELY Non-Contact and for Parachutes, if you only play with weapons off. GTA has some questionable shooting mechanics for MP, and Deathmatches rely alot on camping, so I don't count that W/L either way.

I try to only play on non-contact, and I do take pride in my positive W/L- but not enough to show it off, because no-one cares.

No ratio of any kind, be it race/deathmatch/parachuting/whatever wins, matters in any way. I don't think it even affects matchmaking, which is the only thing I can think of where such a thing would be handy. Such things are meaningless in GTA.

I used to be a MLG Halo player. I had a KD/R of 0.3 and a WL/R of 0.5 and every time I played normal playlists I used to boost a lot those two, so no... since you can exchange races with a friend or get mauled by pros I never pay attention to that.

No it doesn't.You Could have 1000 wins against a 5 year old who doesnt know which button does what or you could have 1000 losses but all of them were 2nd places against a group of 15 of the best drivers in the world. So who do you think would win in a 1v1?I'm in a racing crew so my W/L ratio is just going to keep going down and down because everyone is fast and a lot of people are far quicker and far more experienced than I am.The w/L system just doesn't work for races and there are many better systems in place for racing games.
