They call themselves BRONIES for a reason, because they like to shout everywhere that they are entitled to watch a show with ponies, with a target audience of young girls. You don't see guys preaching that they like Gerald McBoing Boing or Dora the Explorer, because it's not a fad like MLP.

Like Silent Rob said at 6:13, they like to watch up because they like to feel entitled, which is why some walk around with rainbow dash backpacks. They like to say "I can't watch whatever I want." They don't watch the show because they like the show itself. OP might, I don't know, but I'm judging OP since 95% don't actually like the show itself.

 

It's a bandwagon of entitlement.

 

Well, I personally like the show. I think it's well written and has some great jokes, themes, and messages in it.

 

People always scold me for watching stuff like Naruto, Dragonball, Highschool DxD, and Gurren Lagann. I love shows like that. You watch as someone starts out as a powerless kid, not even able to defeat a school yard bully, and they turn into basically a God being by the end of the like 10 year long series. I love those really long character development shows.

OP, I've experienced the same. When I started out as my second character, who is female, I had numerous encounters with level 60+ (mostly 100s) who would kill me with a high level weapon, then run away before I could fight back or go to an area where they could camp and snipe me with ease. Then, like clockwork, I'd get hate messages.

 

Always got a good laugh when that happened.

Long story short, I lost my character, had to start over, went to LSC to sell a Baller as a level 10 with the starter pistol, (was selling the Baller to buy a new gun) got owned by like a level 100, he hid behind his Entity, and then glitched, (to hide from a level 10.. he HID from a level 10...) and then a level 130 came and saved me and absolutely destroyed that wood802 guy. I called him out on his glitching, and I got this as a response:

 

 

Mind you, I'm a girl, playing as a girl character, and he was the one running away from a level 10... He was also too afraid to actually spell out pussy apparently... Don't worry, it's not gonna bite or anything... A pussy is just a pussy, not some mystical thing with teeth or anything...

 

Details: I step out of the lsc after having just sold that Baller, and there's a bright red Entity slowly backing up to me while shooting as I'm spawning outside the LSC... Needless to say, I died without even having the chance to fire my pistol. I re-spawn, attempt to go kill this guy, he speeds off as fast as he can, so I figure he just wanted a free kill off a level 10 to boost his K/D, then, he turns around. He's coming back. "What an idiot!" I think, I've got auto-aim! I'll kill him even if he... Oh wait... He's spun around, and is now backing up to me... Greeeeaaaat.

 

So he kills me a few times like this, and eventually, I spawn looking directly at him in his car, I take a couple of shots, and suddenly, oh, what's this? He's in his menu? Well easy kill then! ...oh wait... He's invincible now..... Ohp, he just teleported... ...he's, at the barber shop? Ooooookay... Oh... He's in that glitched spot... Hiding... From a level 10...

 

So I try to kill him for a while, and eventually this level 130 guy gets a wiff of what's going on, and he sneaks over in passive mode, gets into the glitch with that guy, goes off radar, and then comes out of passive mode and kills the guy. I didn't see how, cause I was outside the building hiding behind one of those pillars in the alleyway. When the guy respawns, this dude just goes appsh*t on him, and spawn camps him. Had to have killed him at least 20 times, he sent muggers, the mercs, bounties, all of it. He even never once got a tank, or backed up with a bullet proof car or anything. He just straight up out played him. Thank you stranger for saving this damsel in distress. My pink Asea wasn't a match for his assault rifles and bullet proof car... (btw, wtf is up with having to be like level 67 to sticker bomb the Asea?)

I used to be similar to the rescue guy back in the GTA 4 days. If I saw some guy in a buzzard spawn killing people, I got my own buzzard and spawn killed them over and over until they left as there was no passive mode at that game. I referred to myself as the good guy bad guy and enjoyed it very much. If it wasn't for the bonus RP weekend, I wouldn't be leveling my alternate account and I would be going back to GTA 4 to fly the buzzard again.

The show is still targeted towards little girls. Just because there is a joke geared towards older people every 10 minutes, doesn't change the fact that it's still about colorful ponies spreading the magic of friendship.

This point is fair enough. I like the show becuase is cute, fun, and makes good writing fodder. (Oh look, I'm pretty much copying what I wrote in a different thread!) Though I will admit there comes a sense of "I'm different!" From watching the show. But I don't see that as a bad thing.

 

The only people I'm going to disrespect are people who think all Bronies are autistic or whatever. Saying it's a fad is reasonable, but I don't see it as a bad thing. But that's just my opinion.

 

Also, I love how something as simple as having a pony avatar can lead to a multi-page argument about bronies.
