kipakolonyasi
i don't think below contains any spoilers. but just so you know all of these happen before the vangelico store scouting mission. if michael "fully retired" after the ludendorff job, how is he still rich after nine years? i know he took the whole take for himself but still the take wasn't that big. it said 179k on the bottom right side of the screen during the mission, you know that "TAKE" information that shows up in the bottom right of the screen during heist missions. lets say that there was 179ks in each bag, still not that big of a score. let say that fib bought him the house too (which is impossible because it's an unofficial deal between michael and dave only. which means if that's the case dave bought the house himself for michael. not with fib's money.) how does he manage to maintain this rockford hills style glamourous lifestyle for nine years? he has a tennis court and a boat for f*cks sake. and think of amanda, tracey and jimmy's expenses... and add this "five figure sums" he transfers to a certain fib agent (dave)'s bank account every month on top of those. nine years... TheTechPoTaToCHIP
He was practically the biggest bank robber in america back in the early 2000's do you seriously think that the only money he kept was from the cash depot job? he had millions stashed somewhere, and after 9 years it slowly got spent to the point where his was mortgaged to his eyeballs. It isn't a plothole, its a hole in how you understood the story... tranceking26 and Detective Phelps

There's no plot hole. You're literally not seeing past that one heist. Michael was a famous and notorious bank robber. You think that one heist was his only heist? No plot hole. Just you not looking very deep. Edited March 8, 2014 by TheMasterfocker CantThinkOfOne2013, Detective Phelps and tranceking26

You think that one heist was his only heist? No plot hole. Just you not looking very deep. Exactly. Michael done a lot of heists before the depot job. He probably had hundreds of millions of US Dollars on him. The depot job was just a way out, and some extra cash. He started that line of work in the 80s, so he became very rich from all those heists. The media also reported on him, and that's why Davey cautions Mike. Detective Phelps
I thought Franklin was the biggest plot hole? He just pops up only to help either Trevor/Michael Well, Mike wanted to teach him the tricks of the trade, and F wanted to climb the criminal ladder. So F isn't really a plot hole. Irisframe
Although I don't think the script is the best of the GTA series. They've taken care of everything so it's closed. There's no hole in there. It's written. The reason is not that he is a famous robber. It's more specific. I would write you the answer if i knew how to put the spoiler thing, but i'll tell you, without being specific for the people who don't want to know, Lester says something very early, about how he knew Michael was in LS

Celticfang
But here's the thing He's paying $5,000 a month to a certain somebody according to Lester, so $5,000 x 12 x 9 works out to $540,000 That's a sizeable amount of money paid off right there. So that may be a reason for mortgaging his home
